Cole and Bicycle Update, May 10, 2008

Hey, countryside family! I'm over in Memphis, visiting Cole, Nathan, and Wendy.

Nathan talks in incredible complete sentences. Being in and out of the hospital for over a year, surrounded by adults has had quite a wonderful effect on his speech! When I arrived, he said, "Gwan, I'm so glad to came to visit us, but next time, don't get lost." (I was later getting here than he expected, and that was his explanation.)

This evening, he ate some of my homemade goat milk brie. He asked a series of questions. "Gwan, did you make this?" "It has goat milk inside?" "Does it have goat milk outside?" Then, "Gwan, I like that you decided to share this white cheese with me. Thank you for bringing it."

Cole is four now, and *full* of energy. Here he is riding the bicycle that you wonderful people got him for Christmas. Picture two is him dismantling the bell.

awww -- he's sooo adorable ...isn't it wonderful to know everything is getting back to just plain old normal I can't imagine how impressive his life is going to be if the things he has taught and learned in the first 4 years of his life is the indicator.

Hugs,
Marlene
