We've got a new addition!

I have been on "calf watch" for about a week now..... but of course a watched pot never boils.... LOL.....

Yesterday at about 1:55pm, I was walking out on the front porch to play with the baby kittens.... I glanced into the pasture just as Shiner's water broke..... (can you say perfect timing)... by 2:25 we had a cute little bull calf.....

We named him Carl.... (the little girl I babysit liked that name...)

He is healthy & nursing very well..... "Mama" is very protective.....

Is she a family milk cow?

yes, she is herford..... atleast mostly..... we believe there might be a small amount of holstien too.....

We let our calves stay on mama.....

DH would like to get a Jersey or a Gurnsey for a family milk cow.....
