Question What are your "Oh we're broke" snack?

I thought this would be an interesting thread.

For us it's microwave cocoa (Swiss Miss Dark Chocolate..mmmmm), pb and jelly sandwiches, homemade cookies/cake/brownies if my cravings are bad enough, and yogurt.

What are your "broke" snacks?

Kat

French toast, pancakes, cinnamon rolls made from canned biscuits, brownies (no matter how broke I've ever been I've always had cocoa and sugar) or nachos (fried corn tortillas, refries, a bit of mild salsa and cheese)

Tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches or chicken noodle soup with PB sandwiches. Homemade bread with homemade jelly or preserves (and maybe some PB). Canned chicken with Chicken In A Bisket crackers. Popcorn, buttered.

Popcorn (made in a pot) and KoolAid or iced tea. We're both diabetic, so we try to avoid keeping sugary/starchy things in the house, but popcorn is OK in moderation.

popcorn and tea.

But then, I eat popcorn and tea in good times and bad. On the plus side... I can't tell if we're having bad times because I eat the same things in good times and bad!!

Homemade sugar cookies, fresh baked bread with butter or honey, or toast with cinnamon and sugar. I'm also big on grilled cheese sandwiches (when we're broke we use 1 slice of cheese, and when we're not we use 2 slices, but now I'm so used to the 1 slice that 2 slices is just too much cheese for me ).
