Tiny successes

Because we could all use a little cheering up today, apparently.

I bought a doe rabbit a couple months ago and she was such a nasty little thing; bit, kicked, struck out with her front feet, the whole nine yards; and that when you were trying to feed her! DH was muttering freezer camp, and I knew we should, but the poor thing came from a pretty blah home before; she lived in a very dirty cage and little to no human interaction, so how was she to know? Just didn't have the heart.

Long story short, she wore a harness today and helped me weed the raised bed. Occasionally hopped over to me for a head scratch or back ruffle.

So, what's your latest little thing that just made you smile?

A harness on a rabbit! I love it and what a nice story.

I smile everytime I see Hoover, our rescued, stolen, confiscated, kitty. He is a real hyper kitty, but he's healthy, happy and knows he loved.

Trixie, I am so glad you still have Hoover! I was afraid you might feel obliged to return him. That's MY smile for today, knowing he is still safe and happy with you!

Oh, MaggieI'm glad you remembered Hoover. He's ours - or we're his.

Husband thought it was a good idea to take a cat someone else had dropped off here a few months ago to the vet's, because he showed up with a hurt leg, our cats share with others (possums, neighbor's dogs, stray cats)...after 3-4 days of antibotics and special food he's looking lots better, all swelling is gone, and he has just a little limp...seeing this was worthy of the cost.

Now that we've admitted to being responsible for him...there is going to be the additional expense of getting him fixed...dang those people who drop off those unwanted animals...

Finding out just how much my son knows about the Word of God. I had no idea he knew so much! He wants to be a preacher one day. Funny thing is, he is just to the point where reading is making sense to him a bit but still struggles with it.

Marlene Yes, I do get a little overwhelmed by people who are not resonsible for their animals. We seem to be a magnet for such animals. It wasn't a big problem when we lived on our farm. We had lots of room, etc.

I do get attached so quickly, though.

lilmommajnn What a sweet story and sweet child.
