Need FLAG help! 4th cavalry...

Do we have any history/US ARMY experts here that can help me figure out the proper dimensions to make a flag?

I need to make one for my father in law - he does reenactments, and he needs it to have a "4" above an "F".

The flag has to be swallowtailed, red on the top, white on the bottom.

I cant find any info on the necessary dimensions! It would be cool to see an actual picture of one so that I will know what exact shape to make the 4 and the F.

A standard flag called a storm flag is 5 feet by 9 and one half feet Double the size and you have what is know as a troop flag double it again and you have a garrison flag . These are sizes for THe US flags . Wow can't believe I remembered that for over 30 years LOL.
