Yes, we are nuts and I think you will agree....

Can't remember the last time I posted about our situation with my niece and her 3 children. Here is the latest and another situation we are considering....

My niece is now in inpatient rehab. She is supposed to be in for 28 days. She's been in for about 10 days and she was telling her case worker she is getting out next week. She thinks she is getting out then. Her heart attitude has not changed yet. She will probably go back to her old ways soon after she is out. IF she does and gets caught by her levels going back up she will then spend 180 days in jail. Pray for her that she will change. I'm ready to give an ultimatum of she either gets better or we are going for parental rights or giving the children to the foster care system (which I really don't want to). By us keeping the children she is getting the best of both worlds. She can do what she wants and know her children are being well taken care of. I just wish she would change.

Now another situation has come up. We are investigating taking in another child. This is needs a home for 2 yrs while mom is in prison. No idea where dad is at this point. We are going to talk w/ her tomorrow night at the jail she is in. Would you pray for God to make it clear if we are to be that home this little one needs?

I've been told lately that I need to write a book about everything that goes on here. I told the people who have said that that our life is really boring!! Not much happens with our family of 14+ children. What would be interesting?

Anyways, that is the latest here..... not much

Michele

Father, thank you for your many blessings on Michele and Dave, and for the opportunity to have met this wonderful family. Please continue to bless them with your love, patience, and wisdom. Bless all the children you have so lovingly placed in their care. Guide them, Lord, in the right decisions and choices as they answer your calling to care for the least in our world.

In the strong name of Jesus I pray.

God bless you!

Just a thought...when the Mom goes to jail they might put the kids in foster care. If you're willing to take htme then you'd be considered "Kinship care". IF that happens the Judge MIGHT say that she's going to be gone too long (2 years) and they need to adopt the kids out. If you have them then you get first chance to adopt them. The blessing in disguise is that you MIGHT get a small stipend for adopting them and (more importantly) medicade.

As for the other Mom....as long as you're willing to lay there and take care of her responsibility she'll be off doing drugs. I have a little guy in my home now in this situation.

I'm a foster/adoptive/respite/kinship Mom. If you have questions, please feel free to PM me!

Doors closed.

At this point we will not have the baby. We did not get a chance to speak with her as she picked someone else without meeting us.

Thanks for the prayers
