Ravenlost - interesting link! Thank you. What came to mind, for me, at least, was that there are a *lot* of companies that are wanting to jump on the organic bandwagon. I can't remember the exact numbers, but hasn't there been a 300% (???) increase in demand/production of organic products in the past year or so? Quality? We'll see. Big Ag has tons of $$. I guess money talks.

I've always bought as much organic as possible, and from the same companies for ten years. I did have to giggle, though, when I saw a large (Oscar) name (Meyer) brand marketing "natural" hot dogs a few weeks ago. I know, not organic, per se, but you know what I mean.

Ladycat - have you any information? You're my go-to girl when I think of this stuff!

The problem seems to be the lack of CERTIFIED products.

This is probably due to the extreme cost for all of the testing of the products by the USDA. Maybe the USDA should think about how the process could be done quickly and for a reasonable cost on these products.

As to the fish products--- Why are these even considered non-organic if they are from wild catch?

Big ag and food processors tried to defeat the organic movement, and when that failed, they decided to co-opt where they could and hijack where they couldn't.

Plan on seeing a lot more of this sort of thing.
