Prayers Appreciated

My cousin Dan has been rushed back to the hospital with chest/arm pain and trouble breathing. He just underwent a quadruple bypass Dec. 21st. They had to rush him back into surgery early the next morning due to a number of reasons, and while in surgery they removed part of his lung (he'd had a blood clot the size of a grapefruit in his lung, they said and complications led to the partial removal). He also had an aortic aneurysm that was not repaired at the time... they said it was small. They also led us to believe with all he went through, they really didn't feel it was a good idea to put him thru that much more at the time.

He's being admitted right now and they're going to run a series of tests.

He's as close to me as a brother, so I'm calling in all the prayer warriors I can get... I appreciate your prayers so much.

Update: 9:10 PM He's been vomiting and so sick. They're getting something for the nausea. I asked if it's possible he might have the flu; they're considering that. Meanwhile they're running tests so they should know something before long.

I called for an update this morning but they're still waiting to hear from the Cardiologist. Whatever they gave him to help with the nausea has helped, but he's still very pale and sick. Dan thinks it's possible he might have the flu. In one way, I hope that's all it is (versus the alternatives), but on the other hand in his post-operative condition, this could be very serious too.

Thank you SO much for your well wishes & prayers... they always mean so much. I will post with any updates I get.

Right before I left for an appointment in town, I got a progress report. The Cardiologist said his heart checked out okay, PRAISE GOD! They are continuing to run tests and he's still very sick but they are leaning towards the flu. I'm thankful that it's not his heart, yet even a virus or flu bug can cause him serious problems in his weakened condition.

Our God is such an awesome God - I give Him all the praise and glory! Any further information, I will update you. Please keep Dan in your prayers... he has quite a ways to go yet. Thank you - thank you - thank you!
