I need a time machine! QUICK!!

I need to go back in time!!
I am scared.
I mean truly terrified!
I am, at this very second, having a "Stomping my foot screaming I Don't Want It!!!" moment.

I have fooled myself for as long as I can... I thought I was in charge of things around here... I thought I had some say so on how things went. I thought I had some control!...

I have No control.. No control over anything!!!! if I did.. this would not be happening!!!

Worker #1 started Drivers Ed yesterday. remember worker #1?? Oh dear! When did he become old enough to drive????
How did this happen??
I can't even get him to keep his pants pulled up and they are gonna let him DRIVE?!?!?!?
This is the same child who can't walk through a room without knocking something over or falling down!
He is a great kid.... but drive?!?!? Oh my goodness!!!!

I guess it's a good thing he'll be in the classroom portion of the driving thing for a month.. so I can get used to the idea.
Then I have to teach him how to drive a real moving vehicle!! Oh My Goodness!!

I copied this from my blog.. if you;d like to read the rest of the post and see the pictures it can be found here.

Lindsey got her permit recently and I took her for a ride down our dead-end dirt road. This is the third daugher I am teaching to drive and Lindsey is the daredevil. I was thinking that I am not sure I have the fortitude to do this one more time. I am figuring Brady will be pretty easy as he seems to be able to drive already. How do boys learn to do that?!?!?!

Just because he takes the class or can take the class doesn't mean he needs to get a liscence. I was 20 when I got mine mainly from sheer lack of coordination. Good luck on that.

i was always too afraid to get in the car with my kids while they learned. not all that great of a passenger anyway.

lived VERY remotely. driveway was uphill. told them they HAD to learn on a 5 speed, because it would come in handy later in life. said if they could get it out of the driveway they could drive to the store about 3 miles away. when they could do that, i'd get in the car and let them drive to town.

we all survived.

Marvella, that is so great and way to funny... my Dad did hte same thing to me and I will say I learned to drive very well and also can drive anything. Thank goodness, you never know if your in need and all that is there is a stick.. My boys weren't allowed to get their theirs until they had enough money saved in the bank to pay for car insurance. My oldest got his when he was 18, my middle was 17 and my youngest was 19. None really ever thought they needed it that bad since they had someone always around to drive. So they saved that money for other things... tee hee hee Made my life easier.

My boys are serious about the driving thing....
BOTH of them have bought their own vehicles and lack about $200 each from bringing them home!! I really hoped they would take longer!! lol

I really worry about them both for different reasons....

worker #1 - is a great kid... but kinda dingy lol he'll see something shiny and run off of the road. (not that bad.. but pretty darn close!)

worker #2 - is the dare devil. nuff said.

I shared everyone's anxiety; when dd took the driver's test in my car across the river (supposed to be easier there!) she ran my car into the brick wall of the motor vehicle bldg! And even w me behind her and mouthing NO< NO<NO! they said, Aw,she just needs more practice, and gave her a license! Then I had to get the headlight fixed that she broke running into their wall!!! And deal with more fear! Good luck! ldc

I've been through it with three boys and am getting ready to start with the fourth (one more after that). It doesn't get any easier.

My first two got their licenses when they were sixteen and they could take driver's ed in school. Now it's no longer provided by the school and costs around $300.00 to take it with a private instructor/school. I wasn't able to afford that, so Boy #3 had to wait until he was eighteen (last March) to get his license. I don't think the extra time hurt.

Boy #4 is seventeen and will have to also wait until he's eighteen but will probably be getting his learner's permit shortly. With him, I really think he needs the extra maturity before being turned loose on the roads. He's more of a risk taker and show off than the others and if I could stall him even longer, I would.

Boy #5 is twelve, so I have a few years before dealing with his driving.

I still hate riding with any of them. My eighteen-year-old has been taking me to Seattle (120 miles each way) for my surgeries and I have to take a book to bury my nose in so I'm not watching his driving, at least on the way up. Of course, on the way home, the pain meds usually help dull the pain of riding with him.
