Question Spring house reconstruction...

Since we developed a case of spring fever my hubby went outside to fiddle with the springhouse that had been used as a canning kitchen...

He uncovered the "main spring" in a well in the building (guess I'll have to take pictures of that, too ). We are having a very difficult time on finding any sources of how to reconstruct that springhouse for our own use

Any ideas, websites, pointers, etc.?

Back to Basics, published by Reader's Digest, has a section on building a spring house (page 56-57). If you don't have a copy of the book, feel free to PM me, and I can scan in and email you copies of the pages. Though the entire book is a good one to have on hand, the section you are looking for is only 2 pages.

You might give a detailed description of the spring and building, how the water is impounded, where it goes, depth of the reservoir, etc., how big is the building, do you plan on using the water in your house? (once you have used spring water to bathe in and drink, cook, brew coffee, etc. you will hate the stuff that the rest of the world calls water)

The main room is approximately 6ft. x 8ft. as is the "trench/trough" room. Here's some pics (oh yeah, it needs a LOT of work but the hubby is willing to give it a shot)

Here's a pic of the main source of spring water to the springhouse (we have a seperate connection for spring water for our home)

This is where that hole starts to drain into

The trough in the second room

And the trough empties into this (it's gotten bigger and more clear because my son and hubby had started to clear out the mud and muck--it's all a sandy bottom)

Any ideas?
