This set was the reason we upgraded to HDTV.

It's brilliant. We've turned several people onto it. I've been told that the DVD set is often used in places where they sell the HD-TVs to show people how amazing the picture can be.

I understand that there is an "Americanized" version with Sigourney Weaver narrating, but I have the British version, and how could anything be better than David Attenborough?

I got my disk set at target a few weeks ago, I put it in my closet then forgot about it. After reading this thread I dug it out and started watching the first disk, its amazing! A mans doing the narrating on this one, he sounds british.

That's David Attenborough. He's a British naturalist -- and has been doing television nature shows for years.

i was hooked from the first show, where birds in the amazon are mating.

who knew there were so many amazing things... from fish building nests, porpoises picking up rocks in courtship, shrimp cleaning up dead things in water too cold for bacteria... and the snow leopards! rarely seen before by human eyes...

numb, i may take you up on it. pm'd ya.

We like David Attenborough. DW bought this series and it is very good. Worth every penny.
