Thumbs up I am so proud of my daughters.

They both received well over $100 each in Christmas money in cards and gift cards. Today the DW took the girls (8 and 9 yrs. old) to town to spend a little of their money. Instead of buying a ton of useless junk, they came home with new tennis shoes for school, and bags of new clothes. I am so proud of them for not wasting their money. They actually bought items they could use.

Those are girls to be very proud of, and I bet they feel so grown up buying their own clothes with their own money.

Talking

I almost cried the other day. Instead of buying me a hunk of garbage for a Christmas gift, they pooled their money and bought me 6 new apple trees, and a solar battery charger. Something they knew their old paw would really enjoy getting. I am so proud of these 2 little boogers. The money they had left over from their shopping spree today went into their piggy banks. Maybe I am raising them right after all. The girls came to stay with the DW and I 5 years ago this Christmas. We were foster parents, and the Alabama DHR called us asking if we would take them in. We adopted them in 2005 and it has been a blessing ever since. I would not trade these 2 girls for anything in the world. They are the greatest gift God has ever given to me.

Oh Ed, It sure sounds like you're doing good with these girls! And boy, teaching them the value of money at such a young age--good for you!

May the Lord continue to bless your entire household.

Kudos to you - not only can they manage money but understand wants vs. needs as well as priorities. AND either they listen or watch to know apple trees and solar charger were good gifts for you.
