Pinecone Research Question

I've read some(not all) of the previous posts about Pinecone Research.
I thought they paid $5 per survey-is that amount only for certain surveys? Does it increase after a person does a certain amount of surveys?

I signed up and was accepted. Here's the e-mail I recieved yesterday. I highlighted the part that surprised me.

Quote:
would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in PineCone Research and officially welcome you to our panel of online consumers.

Your first survey notification is scheduled to arrive by e-mail in a couple of weeks.

As a thank you for your participation, you will be paid $3.00 PLUS be automatically entered into a bi-weekly Sweepstakes to win additional cash prizes each time you complete an assigned product evaluation survey. Your payment is processed the next business day following the completion of your product evaluation survey and should arrive within several days

I know I'm at the $5 a survey place. And I don't get entered into any other thing from doing a survey.

I'm thinking that maybe a some time between when I started, over a year ago, and now they changed the new sign up offer.

Or it might be my age, but we're the same age - so I'm thinking it's the sign up time and rules when you signed up.

The info I read said $3. What I do and don't do will depend on the amount of time it takes.

I think they may have lowered the payout because so many people signed up to do surveys with them. I was getting $5 a survey way back when, but they don;t pay for the qualiflying survey they want you to take before you can take the actual survey. I skipped a few surveys and since was dropped off the rolls. I haven't tried to resign up, pretty sure they wouldn't accept me, since I wasn't taking "Every' survey they sent.

That's odd. I've been with them for 7 years and it's always been $5, and no sweepstakes.

I don't get as many surveys from them as I used to, though. When I first started I averaged probably a survey a week, now it's one a month or less.

For that matter, seems like the surveys from all the survey companies are down in numbers. I used to make $50 or more a month in surveys, now it's hardly anything at all. Some months I'm not even making $10.

I've noticed the number of surveys I get has decreased recently. I signed up about 2 years ago and get $5 a survey. Even at $3 a survey, they still pay more per survey than a lot of other companies.

Since I signed up (when was the link posted here?), I've only gotten one survey.

I do other surveys; one I've gotten $100.00 twice from, but that particular survey takes forever to pay out. The last $100.00 check I got was in July....for a survey I'd taken in October!

it seems everything has slowed down, I don't get as many "Secret shopper" assignments as I did just a year ago, nor invites to focus groups. I just think there are more people doing this, so they have a larger pool to choose from.

KY Guest, I just signed up a week or so ago, and I got the same e-mail as yours. I'm not complaining, I'm just tickled to finally get signed up, lol. Although I do feel bad, I got it from Donsgal's post, and she didn't get in.

I didn't see Donsgal's post, I saw it on one of those Google ads that's on the Proboards sites. I thought it was probably just info about Pinecone Research and was surprised when it let me sign up.

I figure, if it only takes me a few minutes to reply while sitting sipping coffee, it may only be $3 but it still is easy money!

Even $3 is worth it for a product test. $3 for the initial survey, then the product (which is yours to keep), then $3 for the follow up survey.

But if they're recruiting people for $3, I wonder if those of us getting $5 are going to get even fewer surveys now?

I've been a member of Pinecone for a while now (got signed up through a member here, thanks!) and have been getting the $5 surveys. Lately I've noticed a big drop in the number of surveys I've been getting. I did one a week or so ago, and it was the first in over a month. I was almost to the point where I was wondering if they had dropped me!

If memory serves the first $3 survey is just to get more info about you for future offers - it is fairly lenghty compared to the update surveys you usually get.

Except the OP's letter said this:
