PayPal question

Sold my first item on eBay.
And supposedly payment was made immediately.

Do I need to wait for some sort of CONFIRMATION, or other indication that everything has cleared?

In this case, arrival of the item is time sensitive (event ticket).
How can I be sure when it is safe to mail out the item?

You should receive an email from PayPal letting you know payment has been received. Sometimes this doesn't happen. Go to your PayPal account and the payment should be listed there. Click on details to get your shipping address.

Log into your Paypal account and you should see the payment there. I recommend only shipping items to registered or verified Paypal addresses, not an Ebay address. If you see the payment in your paypal account, you have the money in your posession, UNLESS it shows "payment pending". If the payment is pending for any reason, you should wait until it is confirmed or completed before sending out your item. Oft times someone will pay without having enough money in their Paypal account, and it will take 3-5 days to pull the funds from their checking account if the funds are available. No matter what a customer says or promises, do not ship without the payment being completed.

Good luck, and many blessings on your Ebay business!

Yes, PayPal will send you an email saying that "so and so" has sent you a payment and that you need to log in to confirm it. Just in case you might have missed the email (misdirected into junk folder or something), you can go to your account on PayPal and take a look at recent transactions, and if it is in there, you'll see it.

I would definitely wait until you get some confirmation from PayPal. If the buyer says they sent it already, have them email you a copy of the confirmation THEY got from paypal. Bet you a dollar to a donut that they won't be able to produce the email. There are a lot of dishonest folks out there, be careful.

This is the message I've gotten at eBay:
"This item is pending payment through PayPal. Payment was sent to: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

I'll wait until it appears in the PayPal account before mailing.
Thanks.

you might not see it in on the top but in the list it may 'accept-deny' and you have to click on accept.

this happens when people use certain forms of payment.

if they sent tyou a confirm that youve been paid and it hasnt shown up in your paypal within 12 hours....
call paypal and find out whats up.

Where do I look for the "accept-deny"?
In my PayPal account? Or at the eBay site?

In my eBay acccount I find this:

"View PayPal payment for this item."

When I click on that I get this:

"The transaction ID in your link is invalid."

What do I need to do?

go log into paypal.
look at the first page they present you with.

there is a toal at the top in a box... then below is a record of all your recent payments withdrawls ect ect.

at the top of that grid look for the payment you are refering to see if it says "accept/deny" OR it cmay say "pending".

if it is "pending" then they paid with an Echeck and it can take over a week to clear and be deposited in your paypal account..... that sucks because as you say your stuff needs to be shipped ASAP.
this is why some sellers say "no echecks" no credit cards ect ect... via paypal...

IF you sont see anytig but a line that says completed and your payment total, it my just take a while to show in your account staus box at the top but that shouldnt be more than a few hours after it was done.

IF you dont see ANY trace of that payment in your paypal activity list, and you clicked an EMAIL LINK to "go to your account now" and you logged in thru your email link and you cant find your transaction....

you could be seriously
PayPal question - Countryside Families

never ever ever click a link in a paypal email to go to your account.... EVER.

I have a feeling, you just got hornswoggled.

but if the transaction has a NUMBER IN your ebay summery page under "items sold" then it was sold and paypal did process it (payal&ebay are the same company).

check your recent activity grid on your paypal account....

is there actually a payment received for that ended auction? click on "details" and read it...
is the transaction pending?
is it an "accept or deny" issue?

if the paypal transaction # is invalid and you cant find it in paypal...

change all your passwords... immediately.
paypal, ebay, bank account, everything.
NOW.

Got it straightened out.

I had two different email addresses between PayPal and eBay so I needed to add the other one to my PayPal account before I could accept the payment.

And now the payment is there, so I guess I can mail the tickets in the morning.

Thanks
