Going shopping today...

Well this should be interesting. I have $92 and Lindsey needs contacts which will take $30 off that. I do have gas in the van as I put $25 worth in it last week and it promptly broke down, got it back from the station on Wednesday and they said it started every time they tried it, so they don't know what is wrong with it. They did tell me maybe I shouldn't drive it too far!!! That was comforting...

So I get to drive a van that might not start at any given time, I have no cell phone because mine will not charge, will have to rely on the mercy of strangers if I break down I guess. Right now the only person I can call if I break down is Kadia because Megan's car is not running either, my Mom, sister and brothers are working as is my aunt, Cale is not reachable, can call Roy if it is after 3:30 when he is home from work as he said he would come and get me if I broke down- so hopefully if I do break down I can get Kadia on her cell phone, if someone will let me use their phone to call her!!!! (wow, that was one long sentence...)

Then with the remaining $62 after buying the contacts I need to buy groceries, cat and dog feed, $20 worth of household supplies, and magenta ink for the printer so I can print items for a Christmas bulletin board at the community center. It is going to be very close. So you all be thinking of me, I would rather just stay home and work on my quilt, but I must head out into the world and find good deals!

Oh and when Cale left, he gave me a kiss, smiled at me, and said, "Good luck with the van." I said, "Wow, thanks!" -Not sure if luck will do me any good... LOL

I will be thinking of you, but I couldn't do it. I would like to, but I couldn't.

Yikes! You know it's a tight budget when it test even your awesome budgeting skills. I'll be thinking of you too, and hoping you find a $20 bill in the dryer!

That probably won't happen.

Well I am leaving, if the van breaks down I may just take a sledgehammer to it! At the very least, I know that Cale has absolute confidence that I can deal with the problems that arise!

Made it home and the van did not quit once. That was a relief, and I managed to stay within budget and get enough food to keep Brady from starving this week!

You hope you have enough food, those legs are hollow. If more people looked at only spending X amount of dollars as a challenge or game, most would be in much better financial shape.
