Best homemade cranberry sauce there is

I think I've finally gotten this recipe perfected.

Cranberry Sauce

2 Pkgs whole fresh cranberries
2 cups water
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup honey
1/2 tsp to 1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ginger
dash or two of red pepper
1 tsp vanilla

Sort through cranberries, discarding icky looking ones and stems. Rinse. Put in large pot with water and all other ingredients, except vanilla. Simmer gently 30 minutes. Add vanilla. Cool and put in glass jars.

We use it like jelly on toast and biscuits as well as with turkey, chicken, and pork.

Oh my gosh is it good!! :baby04:

what kind of red pepper? Powdered Cayenne, red pepper flakes/seeds? I will try this recipe. I did a recipe with Cointreau (an orange liquor) and it hardly tasted of the liquor so when I use it, I heat it up in a pan and put a splash of the liquor in that and MAN can you taste it!
