Finding a host for a website

I've been working with a charity and we have a blog. The (expletive of choice)thing is driving me crazy! I want to find a host where I can post a Front Page website...that I can handle!

So, how do you hunt for a good host (is that the proper word?) and what is the average cost?

Please, please, please, HELP ME!

don't know if this will give you what you want, but microsoft is giving free web hosting of "office live basics" for a year.
