Hi - My Youngest Dau. Went To Job Corp In Albany Ga. She Has Finished The Ninth Grade Then Got Married In A Few Months - Divorced 18 Months Later....went To College One Summer....then Due Lack Of Housing And Finances She Went In The Job Corp And Took Retail Sales.

It Was Pretty Orderly......she Was One Of Only Two White Girls In Her Building....was Like A College Dorm.....she Got Along Fairly Well, Got In One Knock Out Fight Over A Mop Bucket.....she Didnt Like The Food So Everyweek I Sent Her A Goody-care Pkg. In The Mail.

Now, At 26 She Is The Assistant Branch Manager Of The Bank In The Small Town Next To Us. She Will Be The Branch Manager When The Present [male] Manager Retires In A Few Years.

She Is Still Motivated And Wants To Continue Her College Edu.
Her Real Goal Is To Get A B.a. In Business And Be A Trainer For Her Bank.

Gee.....i Remember When She Was A Sassy Teenager And Drove Me Up The Wall And Down Again.

Hope Your Ds Gets In Job Corp Soon And Does Well.

My daughter went into Job Corp here in Texas about 6 years ago. It was great! She got her GED and her drivers license there. She ended up marrying a guy she met there. My dh (her stepdad) makes the statement "we sent her to get an education and she came back with a husband"! Actually they met there but married after they graduated. My sil is in the Air Force and they have 2 kids. My daughter didn't have friends before going there and not much self-confidence but came home more out-going. My dh went there about 35 yrs ago and became friends with another young man there...George Foreman.
