Thanks! We're celebrating with friends on Sunday, but I'm giving thanks ALL weekend, as DH is home for a visit before being off again Tuesday on another long-term project out of province!!

To my fellow Canucks -- we have so much to be thankful for, I hope you are all celebrating as joyously as my family is this year. Best wishes to all of you!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too!! Even though the holiday itself isn't until Monday, we are having dinner Sunday this year at our daughter and soninlaw's. Now that they have their own home she can do all the work, and dear old mom can sit back and enjoy for a change!!! :-) Dare I leave all those dishes for her to clean afterwards as she has done for years here!!! Certainly against my nature, but I just might try--heck it may not be all that hard! :-)
Enjoy the turkey and all the trimmings! Hugs. Donna

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you!

My mother is canadian and when i was growing up we always had 2 thanksgivings!

We went to Woodstock NB & celebrated with my moms side of the family and i miss them days so much.
Talk about good cooking and lots of yummy foods! Maybe it was just how Gram prepared them???And being with our family there was always the best feeling to me, i am feeling a lil teared up and smiling all at all the same time from the memories. anyhow.....

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL

The things that I am thankful for:

My husband, who treats me like a queen, but only expects me to be the woman I am.

My children, who are wonderful, marvellous, mysterious creatures that I somehow managed to create in loving partnership with their father. They make me proud every day.

My father, who was the greatest man I knew until I met DH -- and still comes in a very close second.

My siblings, all of whom are unique, caring, productive individuals with amazing work ethic and ambition, and who have gifted me with amazing sisters and brothers-in-law and neices and nephews. I am so very fortunate in my family.

For this place that we found to become true "homesteaders", and the community which surrounds it, the people of that community who have opened their arms and hearts to us, and the hertiage that makes them who they are.

For enough, for plenty, for joy, for the sorrows that make the joys all the sweeter, for a sense of place, for a good income, and a deep happiness that has nothing to do with how much money my DH brings home. For good friends, old friendships and new, for contentment, sunshine and the smell of autumn leaves.

For each and every member of this forum, no matter who they are, for they have all taught me something. For Melissa and her constant faith in people, for Chuck and his tolerance, for Dean and his skill, for Angie and her welcoming arms. For Karen and her belief, for Kung and his strength, for Ardie and her no-nonsense way of putting things that should be obvious, but often aren't. For Christine and her positive outlook, for Caroline and her purposeful attitude. For Rose2005, whose sweetness reminds me that there is still gentleness in this world. For Oggie who makes me laugh. For Haggis and his love for his family, and MichiganFarmer (Max) and his appreciation for the simple things which makes me see what really matters. For Cheryl in SD, and CindyC, both of whom inspire me to be a better educator, and for Hoot who simply showed me how to be a better human being.

There are so many who I have missed, who I *KNOW* I've missed, but the list is endless. Thank you, each and every one of you, just for being you, and for enriching my life.

Happy Thanksgiving.
