Leaded glass??

Is leaded crystal/glass safe to use? Aunt dies and leaves me a set of the most beautiful crystal glasses, pitcher and dessert plates. They are lead crystal. I (sorta) remember that there was a 'stink' about lead crystal. Would this be the same as lead poison? Queen Bee

It's amazing such a dull, ugly gray metal can make such beautiful glass. Here's an article that should answer your concerns:

(Use them but don't let food touch it for longer than necessary, especially acid foods.)

No worries there. It's been made into glass. Otherwise most folks who drink from them would be insane/dead/crazy.
