How hard is it to waste all that dough?
http://video.msn.com/v/us/v.htm?g=85...&fg=>1=10252
I hope that link works. It looks like a place where someone worked really hard to find ways to waste their copious wealth. Sorry ya gotta watch a commercial first.

I had zero issues with this.
He did help seniors, and if he made money off doing just that, good for him. How he chooses to spend his money is up to him.

Sorry the link is no longer correct. It was a house that was $44 million. Kind of incredible the amount of wealth that some people have. I think it was 24,000 sq ft for 4 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms. They may entertain but people don't stay overnight. HUGE saltwater indoor pool. 2 wine cellars with something like 6,000 bottles of wine. The chandelier was $800,000. There's a whole 'nother world out there.

Today I was sitting on the floor of our little mobile home (no furniture moved there yet) and I was thinking how happy and how wonderful my life is. I don't need 24,000 square feet to feel good about myself. I'm happy with about 800. Somehow I don't think the guy in the video will ever feel that way.

My husband builds pools for a living. I just dropped him off some lunch at a new pool he is putting in today. I couldn't believe the homes up there! The family he is building for is living in a "motor coach" maybe worth about $300-$400K while there million dollar home is being built. They are on an African Safari for the next couple of weeks. Another family flies over to New York (we live in Oregon) to go shopping, have a business meeting, and fly back (lear jet, is that how you spell lear?) all within one day. Their 14yr old daughter informed my husband that the Acrocombie and Finch (misspelled? I really don't know these stores?) store in London is THE best, the one in New York really isn't as good. Um, ok. My husband, for a long time, thought they had an older daughter. Nope, that was the nanny. The husband decided on a whim that he'll fly to Texas to go watch a football game and come back later that night. Anyways, you get the idea.
Yes, there is another whole world out there.

Good gravy, do I dare ask what kind of job this man has to afford this kind of lifestyle?

I have a friend who told me that his wife spends an average of $9,000 a week. And that's not buying houses or anything, just, you know, stuff.
Don't feel too bad, she's a pretty unhappy person, by all appearances.

Good grief Chuck. All my stuff in my house comes to $9000 if that. I couldn't spend that on STUFF in a week if I tried. A house? Sure. A SUV? You betcha. Stuff? Never.
Let me guess, this stuff went on a credit card? Cause I can not wrap my mind around someone making that much CASH to spend on stuff.
God Bless,
Michele

Him and his brother own the largest medical supply place in the country. They have 5 or so homes but live here in Oregon as a primary residence (their kids go to school here). The sell all of those large MRI machines and such for the hospitals and doctors. They are in the process of moving their manufacturing plant over to China, they hope to double their profits (I think they make about $35 million a year right now). They started the company with $100K each about 15 years ago, mortgaging everything. I guess it paid off. He is the same age as my husband (around 36 or 37 years old).
The best thing about working for rich people? The free stuff! The amount of stuff they throw away! I have things all over this place (oak dressers, tables, kids toys, 10x20 dog run, and on and on) from rich people that were setting it out on the curb or having a thrift store picking it up that my husband intercepted. I have a really nice TV that was part of medical supply guys outdoor living room, he wanted a flat screen out there, so I now have his "old" really expensive TV. We just missed his 4 poster bed. My husband saw it in the garage and thought he was giving away but didn't just want to take it (he called him but he was out of the country and didn't call back). The thrift store picked it up the next day. My husband told him to always ask him first before he gives anything away
