Unbelievable rains today!

Up to 12 inches of rain within a few hours fell in some places around here this morning in a 4 county area. That's right, TWELVE inches in a few hours!!!!!

Most places in the area "only" got 5 to 6 inches this morning.

Roads all over the place are closed, flooding is everywhere. It's BAD out there.

Parts of Wichita Falls looks like a river or something. They've got streets and parts of boulevards closed.

Has poured here as well. Had some evacuations around Eastland. One car was washed off the road close to our area. Phone lines were out all night. Expecting more rain as well. The ground is saturated. We had heavy rains like this in 1995.

The level in one of the area lakes rose 2 feet today!

Multiple homes were flooded. They said a few minutes ago that a lot of people who left from work this afternoon have been unable to get home due to flooded roads.

You should put your chickens on floating barrels and send them up to Michigan. I'd let you share a part of my yard! We are beyond dry. It would take more than a foot to get us back to normal! Please share some of your rain!

Scary. I heard the same forecast for Oklahoma this week. We had quite a bit of rain this weekend--the most in years, but we are also supposed to get 1 foot this coming week!

The other side of the world, but the same is happening here - our property flooded and four years work washed way - but we count ourselves very lucky: 9 lives have been lost, including a family of five, (Mum, Dad, two baby daughters and a nephew), when the road collapsed under their car and floodwaters carried it away). Absolutely heartbreaking. Not too far away other areas are still in drought.

Severe, extreme drought here in Georgia - we could sure use some of that rain. Prayers for you and yours to stay safe....

Wichita Falls looks like it sunk into a swamp in some parts. They've been showing arial views all day and there are places where the water is several feet deep in the houses. Evacuations going on all over the place. They even had to evacuate a hotel this morning.

The rivers are above the flood stage and still rising. Bridges out, roads closed. This is NO fun.

Oh, bless your hearts, Ladycat.

Here in Central Texas, it is raining again, and the sky is black and threatening again.

My husband told a man today, he should have just scooped out the garden spot a little and raised catfish this year.

How I wish we could send some rain to you guys that need it -

Wow, I was JUST thinking the same thing, but instead of the garden, it would be in the chicken yard. I shoulda got myself some catfish or ducks, but not chickens!
