I swear, sometimes I don't know what is wrong with me.
First off, I am already on the GS service team doing Brownie recruiting. And when the website lady quit, I took that on too. Hey, no biggie -- I took on the Cub Scout website as well. Then someone asked me to either update the GS daycamp site or teach her how...I figured doing it was easier, so I am doing that too.
Then we had our monthly service team meeting tonight. Next year I am no longer doing recruiting. I am going to be the registrar. And also do the website. And also do
PR. And I'd lay odds that I'll be doing some recruiting too, since I did it this year and we have no idea who might step up for next year, if anyone.
Today was a fun work day too, because one of my clients is having a tiff with his web designer, who is the person who referred me to this client in the first place. Web designer is miffed that client paid me and made HIM wait.

I think it's a squeaky wheel thing. So the web designer quit. What did I do? Offered to do his website. I've already done some graphics for him when he was upset with his graphics guy. I don't formally do either -- I am a writer. Sheesh.
So I spent the last 5 hours, seriously, trying to figure out CSS and edit the existing pages on this guy's website. I've done websites for years but never bothered to learn CSS, which I know is an important web design tool, but my sites are small and I just use tables. He also wants some forms programmed in, and it's anybody's guess whether I can figure that one out. I like learning new things but putting in 8 hours and getting paid for 2 is not my idea of a good time.
I expect tomorrow the web design guy will come back and say "oops, sorry, it was just a misunderstanding," then discover that someone else has done his work and been paid for it. Will that mean I never get another referral from this guy? Do I care? Sometimes this business stuff is just no fun.
Well...I guess I need some sleep!
