Keeping Strawberry Plants till Planting Time ?

I got some strawberry plants - they are in what looks like peat - in a plastic bag . How do I keep them till planting time ? We still have snow here and the ground is still frozen .

Place them in the refrigerator until the ground thaws

Or if you have really bright light source or temps are above freezing outside, pot them up for a while until you can plant them.

I actually kept some in the fridge from the Spring to the Fall - they didn't look so great by September :baby04: & most of them died.
Point is they are very sturdy & will keep awhile as long as they are cool & damp.

I just say do whatever... I left a open box of starts on my porch(in early april) forgot they were there and just for fun planted them in June. They looked really dead. I ended up with an August crop though the end of October.

I would probably just keep them moist and plant them when the ground thaws.

I've kept some refrigerated for 2-4 weeks when they came too early to plant...and they all survived.
