HELP!!! Need a quick idea for a teen girl birthday cake

I was planning to make a cake in the shape of a jewelry box with candy jewelry cascading out of it, but I couldn't find it anywhere.

So now what? The birthday party is at 4 p.m. tomorrow, so I need something quicker--not too time consuming. I have lots of stuff I can use to decorate with.

Oh, she's going to be 15 and loves sparkly girly stuff. More the feminine type. TIA

Quick and easy...

A cell phone shape with the text message in the window that says: Happy Birthday Jenny (or whatever).

One of my Aunts used to make a cake for the girls in the family, she called the Princess cake. She took an angel food pan and a round cake pan the same size, made a pound cake (like a wedding cake) in each.

She'd place one of those plastic dolls (for crocheting) waist high down the hole in the angel food cake, place that atop the round cake, and then piped icing all around to look like a ball gown for a princess. Row upon row of rosettes, and of course covered the doll's bosom with icing as well.

A really girly cake, perhaps too young though for a 15 yr old. But, you could use the same idea and make it more age appropriate.

Edited to correct .............. should be a bunt cake pan and not angelfood pan.

mrs oz here

Doesn't have to be this involved.......but this sort of concept is very youthful and fun. You can make it as girlie as you want.

the most successful party we had was when my 2nd oldest was 14. I made large sized cupcakes and left them plain. I had several flavors so they could choose. Then I had several frostings, different candies... a pastry bag so they could write or learn to make flowers etc... and they spent probobly 2 hours frosting thier cupcakes for the party...

they also made placemats and fancy barrettes... before they ate, we took a pic of each of them with thier hair done, in front of thier own creations

Those girls will be 30 next year and I still hear about it occasionally from one of the girls.... a couple of months ago, I saw one of the girls 6 year old daughter wearing the barrette she decorated that day.
