Decisions, Decisions...
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I almost always make a big pan of lasagna for the main course, along with salad. Now for the dessert... I am wavering between Texas Sheet Cake (or the best chocolate cake as we call it) New York Style Cheesecake with strawberry sauce, or a selection of homemade candies including buckeyes, orange drops and chocolate nut clusters.
Maybe I'll skip the lasagna and just have three desserts?!?!?

It all sounds good to me Melissa! I love cheesecake with strawberries probably the most...but the cake and candy sounds good too! What does your hubby like the best? I would fix his favorite...if he has one...but if he likes all of those equally...then pick your favorite!

Are you making Pioneer Woman Lasagna?
You and DocM sure got me hooked on that site - I printed out the sheet cake recipe just today and I'm thinking we'll have that tomorrow night after supper.
If it were my house, we'd probably go for the cheesecake - it's Lance's favorite, and mine too. I've never made one, but it's on my "to do" list!
I'm not sure what we'll be having for dinner tomorrow - I'm actually leaning towards having a big meal - steak and crab legs, baked potatoes, hot rolls, salad and soup or steamed brocolli and soup. We don't usually do a lot special for Valentine's Day, but I was thinking of surprising everyone this year.

A) What's Pioneer Woman Lasagna? (Since the new baby, I've started helping with the cooking, so I gotta be on the lookout for new ammo, while I'm in the kitchen).
B) What's wrong with good ole fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies for dessert (Can ya really go wrong with'em?)?

I liked the looks of her lasagna! Mine is fairly similiar, just a few small differences. I guess lasagna is one of those things where you can just make it up as you go along.
I think her recipe for the chocolate cake is very close to the Texas Sheet Cake recipe I have. I remember my best friend's Mom used to make it when we were kids. It is probably the oldest recipe in my personal collection!

I haven't decided on dinner tomorrow yet -- either steak or pork chops. But I'm making a batch of brownies.

Look here, ladies; but consider yourself warned - she's hilarious, and addictive. I particularly like the posting from a week or two ago regarding the trucks getting stuck in the ice storm.

My vote would be for the cheesecake with strawberry sauce too. I always make hubby his favorite for Valentine's Day - a homemade coconut cream pie.

The Texas sheet cake is a favorite around here too. Have you ever tried the peanut butter version? My cousin's hubby wants me to make it every time we have a get together and then always takes what's left home.

We're having pork roast, mashed taters and gravy, green beans, corn bread and for dessert chocolate peanut butter brownies. Yum.
Melissa, if I were you I'd go with what hubby and kids like best.

Now, understand I'm a simple man. Ernest would identify. But if you're talking deserts. . . . . .
http://www.carnegiedeli.com/
Cherry Cheesecake.
You can take it with you on your lap while you visit the Statue of Liberty, delving into that cheesecake with coffee stirrers 'cause you don't have better implements because who KNEW you'd happen upon that deli and that wonderment!
Had a customer who used to visit NYC often. Told her about the deli and asked her if she was around there to bring a cheesecake home. Well, she guarded that cheesecake with her life . . . but when she got "home" to Oklahoma City. More than half of it had disappeared! Snert, far be it for ME to gripe, I got at least half!

Pork tenderloin with veges for supper. Then a chocolate heart cake with lite whipped cream and strawberrys. Trying to still watch our waistlines while enjoying the day.

They won't care. They aren't picky about food, thankfully.
I think I am going with the Texas sheetcake and chocolate covered strawberris (gotta sneak a little nutrition in there~)

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day:
So go on a diet for one day and just live on love for the day, instead of eating all of those excessive calories, and then winning about the extra pounds gained.

Yeah, but what fun is that? Besides it's whining not winning...Unless you consider your additional pounds to be a victory?
