Computer Help Needed

I need to figure out how to manipulate or edit a document after I've scanned it into my computer. Do I need a program such as acrobat writer to do this? Or can I manage with the office 2003 program somehow? I am such a dummy when it comes to this stuff...

depends on how the document is formated. word that comes with xp could do it it in that format or if it excell you will need excell or powerpoint there so many out there you will need to know what the documnets format is first then get the right program for it

Ok, but when I scan it in can't I select the format?

It must be scanned as a document and not a picture and with a program with optical character recoginition.
