So - where do you hang out?

My main place is on the back enclosed porch, there is glass on 3 sides and I can keep track of everything that moves outside here. The neighbor to the right is a day sleeper, to the rear, I don't see outside more than a few minutes per day as he comes in from work or is going out to work. The one to the left rear is a elderly female thats very quiet.

At the twist of the head I can see our critters completely, full coverage view. Any stray predator will be in sight immediantly. I have a smaller than usual desk for this puter, it allows me room to set my eating container at its edge and not a lot more. There is a small pile of stuff, such as my inhaler, calculator, pens, disposable razor, type stuff.

This is my main place of existence, during the day time's early part. Later in the day it shifts to the airport where I feed the big animals. So, do you have your own small space that you claim as your own? Or you one of those that wanders through the complete structure?

Every morning I meet the Tortie WonderCat on the living room couch for Couch Time (TM), during which I stare out the front picture window and drink coffee and she kneads my legs to her little heart's content, until the birds start visiting the feeder and she has to move to the picture window to conduct surveillance.

It's waaaaay too cold for this now, but for a good seven or eight months of the year I am most likely to be found on the back deck, surveying my wee domain from above.

Ah, how I would love an enclosed porch....

The computer area is pretty much my hangout. I can see the front entryway and kitchen from here, as well as the back door. It's a pretty good vantage point for hearing what's happening inside and outside, too.

I can do my hand sewing here and research information/patterns I need for other projects. It amazes me the stuff you can find free online.

I do the bookkeeping for our business here, too.

In warm weather, I'm often outside tending the garden, or when that's done, sitting on the front porch watching the light and the critters.

In the winter, it's the den. There are times I wonder why DH and I built the addition on the far end of the house LOL!! - Oh yea, so we stopped having to deal with frozen pipes and had a place to go when tornados were in the area.

But the den has the wood stove and the computers. It is open to the kitchen, and it's the only room in the house that is real close to being done (whole house rehab).

Once it warms up, we spend the bulk of the time outdoors, and then it's pretty much all over the property -depending on what we are working on at the time.

Some day, I'll have the greenhouse and gardens - and that is where I hope to spend the bulk of my time - except the middle of the winter when I'll be back to within feet of the wood stove.

I've got a small 12x20 workshop out in the back yard with all my wood working and carving stuff in it. The dogs and I stay out there most of the day unless its too cold then I'm here in "my" computer/ reading room. I use the term "MY" loosely because the wife stays in here and when her kids or her friends come by they all come in and take over my room. We have a large living room [with french doors to keep the dogs out] that was suppose to be for company but I can't keep everyone out of here.

I'd show you a pic of my desk but it would give you nightmares... I have stuff piled everywhere on it, I have to sit sidways to it because one of the goldens has picked my leg space as his cave. The rest of the dogs litter the floor so walking in here is dangerous. I hate to admit it but its a mess.

My "sanctuary". I have a small spare bedroom with my computer armoire, 45 gallon aquarium, and a futon sofa in front of a large window overlooking my front yard. I go in there to play on the internet, scrapbook, pay bills, watch my fish. My futon has no mattress yet, it is just a frame, so my dogs often follow me in there and sleep on the floor, but when I have a mattress they will sleep on the bed and I will have a quiet place to nap, read, or just relax with a cup tea. MY DH also has a spare bedroom that is his "office", although it is such a disaster and so cold that he doesn't use it right now except for storage and to occassionally get on his puter. He is more often found in the barn where he has a wood burning stove, a love seat, his tools, work bench and all of those "male things" we have no children nor any plans to so we enjoy our extra space and are quite comfortable. In the Summer we hang out in the woods, by the bonfire pit, or the front porch.

The kitchen is my main hangout. From the window I can only see the birdfeeder, garden, barnyard, and woods beyond. There is almost always someone at the counter to keep me company, or a dog at my feet. It's my favorite place on Earth!

It depends on the time of year, in warm weather, I hang out under the big walnut tree by the garden, in cooler weather I sit in my earthbermed shed with the doors open a bit, surveying my kingdom. lol

The kitchen/DR/Study/LR are one big 'L' shaped room. You can find me there, either in the kitchen or the LR behind my spinning wheel.

In the winter? My MIL's house. Sipping coffee and working Sudoku w/her is a great place to be when the weather is yucky.

In the spring, summer, & fall? The garden...

I hang out right here in our bedroom, in front of the computer. Two windows face the road and one faces the driveway, so I can see what's going on easily. My soda can is at arms reach. I can see into the living room and am within shouting distance to the office where Roger works. The bathroom is only a few feet from me. (Thank goodness!)

Right now, I'm braiding and lacing chair pads for the kitchen-again on the desk top.

Bedroom where we have the pellet stove is for evenings.

If I'm in the mood to read, I sit in the living room in front of the woodburning stove.

If I want nature, I go to my special spot on the river, where the reeds and rushes, weeds are 7 feet tall. No one can see me out there but I can watch the river go by!
