Question for Women...
Was wondering if anyone here has had a simular experiance....
Ok, in November, I miscarried. Or, I THOUGHT I did. Was only a few days late, took a pregnancy test, which came back positive. Started bleeding a few days later,(Nov 11) and continued for several weeks,at least until almost Christmas As I had miscarrried several tmes in my life and knew the warning signs of trouble, I didn't feel the need to go to the dr. Could have only been a few weeks along. WELL, I haven't had a period since, and today took another test, positive again. Has anyone else ever miscarried ,or bled like a miscarraige, but still remained pregnant here ? I could not have gotten pregnant again in the time in between. I am going to the dr. tomorrow, but am very concerned,as I am 37 and was high risk w/ my son who is now 4,for high blood pressure. BTW, it was a sursprise, obviously the contraceptives DH & I used failed. Also worried, as DH has started a new job, insurance hasn't kicked in yet.

I had regular bleeding both times I was pregnant. I just assumed it was a irregualar period until the morning sickness kicked in. I also had placenta pervia (I'm not sure of the spelling) that caused bleeding when I was pregnant both times.
I'll remember you in my prayers! I hope everything turns out okay.

I've miscarried but never had your experience. However, I've had several friends who were pg with twins and one with triplets who miscarried one baby but carried the other one or two.

There are a couple other unusual conditions that can elevate your HCG causing positive test.
Your doctor may want to do an Ultra Sound to check things out.
Wishing you well.

Yes, I know, I thought of that as well. Funny thing was, when I was bleeding those weeks, I "felt pregnant", and I hadn't BEFORE I took the first test (sore breasts, queasy, frequent urination, etc) however I don't NOW. But,the other night I was laying on my back, swore I "felt something move" & that's when I began to wonder...
Will try to sleep & hope I can get in to a Dr early tomorrow & get some answers. Thanks for everyones' help/well wishes.

Good luck- could be normal pregnancy- didn't actually miscarry; could be ectopic (tubal) or another sort of abnormal pregnancy. Do see your doctor and do go to ER/call ambulance if you get bad pain or feel ill/like fainting- ectopic pregnancy can cause one to bleed to death internally. Once you/Dr knows pregnancy is in right place can stop worrying about that.
Let us know if you're willing, or at least that it's alright.

My mother, a teacher, took a group of teenage girls on an excursion (this was many years ago) and one of the girls began to feel unwell, with tummy pains. She was taken to the nearest hospital, where, a couple of hours later, she gave birth to a bouncing baby! The girl didn't have the faintest idea she was pregnant, because she'd had her periods regularly throughout, and her tummy stayed flat. It all came as a bit of a surprise to her!
With one of my pregnancies, I had periods for 4 months, but I knew I was pregnant because it wasn't my first by any means.
It can happen. But it needs to be checked out by a doctor, because it could mean that there are problems - maybe a twin has died and hasn't come away, or the placenta isn't firmly attached, or any of a number of other things. Sometimes you can miscarry one twin, and the other keeps going. All sorts of things can happen!
You'll need to have a scan to see what's happening in there. I suggest you get checked very soon. I hope you have a happy outcome.

When I bled, I miscarried, except for once when it was only light spotting.
But I had a friend several years ago who said that she bled all the way through her pregnancies. I don't know whether or not there were complications because of it. Good luck. I hope your doctor visit goes well.

I bled almost non-stop for the first 14 weeks of my last pregnancy. Some days it was just light spotting, other days it was heavier than any period I've ever had. The end result was a healthy baby boy.

I had 2 miscarriages
Then, the 3rd time I got pregnant, I bled at the beginning, but had a normal pregnancy thereafter.........as evidence: my 5 yr old is now standing here beside me waving a puppet in my face
Bleeding can happen with perfectly good results -
Keep us posted - I will say a prayer for you!

yes
my third son was like like that. I was put on bed rest for a month. Everything after that was fine. Then a month before he was due he decided he wanted to make an early appearance and I ended up on Breathen(sp) YUCK!!! But we made it till the 15th of Feb, he'll be 7 this year.
I would look it to getting to your midwife or OB just to make sure that everything is ok.
I've also gone through a miscarriage, started like Noah did but then the cramping started which was way different.
So I would think that maybe your still pregnant, I have heard of several woman who have bleed for the first few months, more than just implantation bleeding.
Good luck and I will be praying for you.
Blessings,
Debi

I bled very badly with my youngest dd. I even went to the ER because it was so heavy it looked like I had been stabbed-clots and all. She was just fine and was born perfectly healthy.
On the other hand, when I had my fibroid, I had the same symptoms with elevated HCG. They will probably need to do some bloodwork and an ultrasound to be sure.
Good luck, and I hope the best for you.

My mother has unusual bleeding when she and my dad were married for about 3 years and were trying to have a baby. Dad was in the army and they were stationed in Germany. She went to the doctor and they told her she had a tumor and would need an immediate hysterectomy. A second opinion revealed the "tumor" was my sister who arrived without complications 7 months later.

MY first daughter was a twin, I miscarried the twin at one month, I thought it was a heavy period and then when I went to the midwife being pregnant found out I was a month further along than I thought. I am not sure that made sence Anyway, I am thinking of you, let us know what happens.

Well, pretty frustrating day. Couldn't get in at the Dr., waited all day for them to call back, they were full. Went to the local health department, all they did was a pregnancy test, and told me I'm either pregnant or I miscarried and still have hcg in my system. My only other option is to go to the lab & pay $125 up front for a blood test to check my hcg level, which we can't afford at the moment. The nurse at the clinic said it's likely I did miscarry, since I bled heavily for at least 5 weeks. But I just wonder if the test could still be positive, if it can stay in my system so long, after all I started bleeding on Nov. 11 !! I guess all I can do is wait for the Dr to call & say they can work me in. Not many places will accept patients w/out insurance, at least that I can find here, w/ out a hefty office visit fee.

Yes
With my first pregnancy I tested positive and then started bleeding around week 6. I then bleed very heavly through week eight where I passed a massive clot, or something. Next day DH and I went to the DRs for a scheduled ultrasound. They started the ultrasound and we asked "what's that" It turns out it was the baby. I continued to bleed on and off untill week 14 or so. My daughter is now four. Now with my next pregnancy I had no bleeding at all.
My mother think's it was a twin that I miscarried, I think she might be right.
I'd get an ultrasound to see what's up. I know they are pricy, but it will tell you what's going on.
Good luck! Keep us posted,
Lisa

Do you know of any homebirth midwives? (You could call your local La Leche League leader-- they usually know this sort of thing). Maybe she could listen in a bit? She probably would not charge you much.
There are good and bad reasons this could be happening...the good is you are pregnant (perhaps you lost a twin?), the bad could be something else. If you find a midwife who will listen in or use a doppler and they don't hear anything, she can advise you what to do next.
All good thoughts your way!
