Sick kids

The week before Thanksgiving I had my oldest daughter (15) home with pneumonia. The doctor almost put her in the hospital. The following week my youngest ran a fever & had a cough. Took her in, but lungs were clear & it finally ran it's course. Had my other son (11) home Tuesday & yesterday with a fever. Took my youngest son (5) in today. He has been sick since Friday. He has not eaten hardly anything & has just laid on the couch. I kept him home Monday & Tuesday because he had a fever. He did not have one Tuesday night or Wednesday morning so I sent him to school. He did not have a fever this morning so I sent him. When I picked him up I could tell he felt bad again. I took him to the doctor & he has pneumonia! His fever was back up over 103*! I felt so bad that I sent him to school. I never realized he was that sick. He hasn't complained at all about anything. I wish this darn weather would make up it's mind. It has been warm & then it gets really cold & then warm again. I am sick of the up & down temps. I would rather it got cold & stayed cold.

I know how you feel. My daughter had a fever of 103.6 about 10 days ago. Finally got it down to 102, took her to the dr. She had a double ear infection and broncidus (sp?) She finished her antibiotics monday- was feeling fine..Last night she wakes up screaming. Her ears had ruptured. Tried motrin and tylanol to help with pain, heat pad, nothing worked. I took her to the ER. Now my son and husband are sick.

Wendy, I hope all your children get better soon. I find it heartbreaking when kids are sick. Pneumonia is horrible.

Holleegee, oh my--is your daughter ok? I hope you stay well, it sounds like you have your hands full.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for everyone (yes, we are all sick here, too)

Wendy hope all your chickadees get to feeling better really soon!! Especially before Christmas. It breaks my heart to see kids sick on Christmas.

Knock on wood, my little chick has been well! Which usually because of her immune system, allergies, etc. catches every little thing! Yesterday her class went to the mall to visit Santa only to find out HE went home sick. I feel bad for the kids who sat on his lap before he went home. YIKES!

Sorry to hear about all the sickness - remember with kids, they need vitamins and water, water, water, and plenty of sleep, and rest in general. Mine seem to pass these things around and around.

I do think if the weather was either warm or cold - it would help, the temps here have been all over the place too.

Sorry to hear that some of you have sick kids! I always feel so bad when my kids are sick, I can sympathize with you. My neice was just diagnosed with bronchitis and pneumonia, too--seems like the "common cold" is much more serious this year! Hope all get better very soon.
