We had an unseasonably warm day today. I got a visit from each of my grown children and fed them all ;^D And it's gonna be mildly stormy tonight - good sleepin'! That's peaceful (zzzzzzz)

Something wonderful occurred to me the other day. I kept wondering why we call our senior years "The Golden Years" when, with health issues, so many life losses, etc. it isn't so golden most days.

But I suddenly realized why! I've noticed that in these later years, I'm discovering so many joyful things in life that I totally and completely missed when I was younger, invincible, and too busy to notice. So many little things that leave me wondrous, amazed, and always learning about life.

The dgds are feeling better today, the sun is shining, and after almost 29 years together I still love waking up next to my wonderful dh.

On a positive note... its been a great year for us. We were blessed by having Yvonne's folks here with us for nearly 5 months, we have four calves soon to be ready for market, the freezers are full, the pantry is full, and the liquor cabinet is full too! Life is good!

Nice rainy morning here. The type that's great on a tin roof. The porch is dry and suitable for a bit of rocking on and listening to the rain on the roof and the leaves.

Our place is as ready for winter as it's ever been throughout our years (decades, now) on this land - and more ready than in many years. Partly, this is a matter of lots of good food in the pantry, kitchen drawers, and freezers.

Today I was able to fix a grain mill that belongs to a friend of ours (a good-hearted lady living on her own). It required a creative solution and I was happy to find one - one that actually worked out very well.

Personal projects are going well, too.

Plus, it's nearly suppertime as I post this, and supper (in the kitchen) smells very good!

The dvd player broke this week and we dont watch tv so we have been playing games at night. Tonight after church we started a 500 piece puzzle with our kids ( 4 of them age 1-7) and made popcorn. It was so fun!

I'm getting some sewing done, and took parents out yesterday to buy a new bed for Mom and a new recliner for Dad. Brother and I went together to make it happen for them. It will be nice when the items are delivered and the old ones taken away.

And can we keep this going? Surely we all have something good each day to share around the site.

Oh, and I'm rediscovering Dr. Who. I haven't watched in about 25 years, so I'm starting over via Netflix. While starting to knit a Dr. Who season 16/17 scarf for a real Dr Who fan friend.

It is the 50th anniversary of Dr. Who. On our Space Chanel they have been showing all the old Dr. Who series. Yesterday they showed the latest episode and the end of the latest series - The Day of the Doctor. The new Dr Who has already regenerated.

There is a movie that tells the story of how Dr Who was created. Really good. You may be able to find it on the internet

My youngest son is finally off of crutches since his ACL/MCL surgery. We took a great walk together this morning, adding it to the end of our individual exercise regimens. I've really missed walking and talking with him since he got hurt. It made my day.
