I really thought they had the best chance at winning. Or that country music singer. I was a little shocked when Forte went out earlier then I expected if they didn't win.

Speaking of Forte, when I went to google this stuff (not having seen the show), I came across a site that had all those vile tweets from people angry a Japanese guy won. I can't share the link because of the language.

As if that wasn't bad enough, they had tweets from people really, really angry that Forte sang a song in another language (Italian)

So pathetic.

I could care less he won it.. good for him and best of luck in his future as an entertainer... I'm just kind of lost on the whole America aspect of it when it seems to be more International..

Just to be clear Simi, it was the twitter people I was dumbfounded by, they were incredibly vile.

Mad because they sang a song in Italian?? SMH.

I guess people don't understand that Opera is rooted in the Italian language...

Goodness, it's only a TV show that has no influence in our daily lives. It's simply entertainment. In the scope of all that is going on in the world today, why does it even matter if he was from Neptune?

To me, when they say, "America has talent", that means whoever happens to be in America at the time anyway.

Yeah.. it's only a TV show and I agree.. but it's the mentality behind it the media is pushing that I was noting... But then again, I've not really seen much good from TV other than mayabe some things on PBS..

I don't get broadcast TV, the only reason I watched this season(the only one I have seen ) was I ended up watching a blurb on hulu previewing a part of th etalent and I got intrigued enough to watch it.

OK.. instead of just complaining.. I've come up with a solution... The network can send me my royalties for this ..

Next season they can name it America's International Talent Show... that way not only is the name more fitting, but it can appear to be reborn and possibly draw in more viewers..

Smart idea.

I agree too, I thought it was supposed to be talent from America. I am okay as long as the contestant is a resident of the US. They don't have to be natural born, just an actual resident imo. I mean, they have Britain's Got Talent and there's some other countries too.

I love watching Howie Mandel. I don't like Stern. But Stern is greatly preferable to the biggest jerk in the world Piers. I stopped watching the show because of Piers.

I usually only watch when there's plenty of contestants. Once they narrow it down, if I don't have a favorite or two, I lose interest. I know they skew a lot of the stuff too. I mean, when the singers are using the production sound system, do you think they don't tweak the outcome just a little bit one way or the other? I'm skeptical.

I don't like that we're expected to believe that the judges have never heard them before..all that phony surprise.

opera or not after listening to Forte and Il Divo, i think everything sounds better in italian those gentleman could sing me the directions from a recipe in italian and i would be swooning...

my son was rooting for Kenichi, but i turned him on to Forte, and he was really made when they were eliminated. (he is 10)

i have never watched this show before this season, but i thought it was interesting.

In the finale show I noticed ALL the singers sounded not very good when they were paired up with real professionals for duets. Josh Groban sounded so much better than Forte! Same with Dierks Bently paired up with Jimmy Rose, and the guy that sang with Cami. You could really hear that they all weren't as good as some thought....

This show drives me a little crazy, yet me and DH watch it every year.... Not sure what that says about us. LOL
