Gee who would have thought that since we were in Mexico, PA doing a Civil War event for a Camp Ground owner who loved the picture that was taken..

But then maybe because we fire them we are even more irresponsible.. I guess someone forgot to tell us reenactors that....Or is it ok in this case, since people enjoy watching us "play"

Is it the difference between the weapons, that makes it irresponsible or the clothes they are wearing?

Others are the ones associating it with a "Dirty Harry" pose trying to make it an insult.. I don't see it that way..

Was the weapon unsafe or used in an unsafe manner?
We don't know, because we can only view it from the perspective of the picture, we don't know if the weapon is pointed in a safe direction or what else is around..

I think I'm just going to dismiss your posts here since you just aren't making any sense and aren't addressing anything, unlike Martian Chick, whose posts I enjoy.

That's ok, the box muffles transmissions from the Outside. Ya gotta open the top. Transmissions come in even clearer if you get out of it.

I'll repost since you don't seem to be actually reading much, just tossing about attacks about how people here are bigoted and living in boxes. Acknowledge and respond if you actually want to be taken seriously and not dismissed as a troll.

I have observed a direct correlation between supporters of gun rights who tout lifestyle as a major talking point, with those who say elsewhere "I dont want them shoving it in my face". Either posters here or people in real life--I been here long enough I can name names, and y'all know who you are. It's disingenuous and those who do not share the gun lobby's fervor see this and it damages the message, which if this was REALLY about Second Amendment Rights, "we" would be doing everything to preserve the ability and right to bear arms(tools, whatever they maybe, down to a cast iron fry pan) to stand up to TYRANNY.

I've talked with lots of those outsiders of the gun lobby, they support freedom from tyranny, and it grows every day. Too bad a lot of folks are blinded by emo arguing tactics and it's situation FUBAR. Seriously, the forefathers are taking auditions for the fat lady to sing. The guys that want to take your rights are laughing, it's all going to plan--get em all riled up on a twisted truth and it all ends up impotent cuz nobody knows nothing anymore and everyone has bought into the division.

Good luck with that.

I'm definately not arguing, more like critique, assessment, evaluation etc. That's another thing--people rarely evaluate method or results, it gets bogged down in shouting "xyz" at each other.

I think I need to move to Washington.. Ya'll are smokin' some great groovy stuff out there...

It's always been a us against them when it comes to politics and government... Of course they want division,, and are hoping the gun control freaks will win..

The control freaks don't want tyranny.. .but they don't understand what it is that keeps them free from that tyranny.. People like me that owns a gun or two, that the government has no control over what it's pointed at...

It's kind of like the cold war... each side has enough firepower, but the rich elitist side really doesn't want to play by those rules any more..

The control freaks are the ones that just cant seem to grasp that concept and are falling right into Unkle's arms.. Who is a control freak himself..

Ummmm...no. At least 4 years ago. I walked in and told and showed the bell hop I was armed and requested they provide a gun safe. They had me wait outside, then 7 guards came out in response to a "man with a gun" alert. It took a few minutes for them to get comfortable with me as to why I had a gun. I had been training at Front Sight out in the dessert for 6 days. Then 2 of them escorted me into the bowels of the hotel, gave me a receipt, and we locked the gun in a safe.

I got an apology for the delay and that is when I was told about the man with a gun issue. We shared a laugh at those who fear guns. Turns out the head guard on duty was USN like me and we chatted about ships, guns, training, etc. And then he escorted me to check-in and asked that they upgrade me. I got a free (my room would have been free regardless) suite. Nicest room I have ever had.

If the Civil War reenactment was in a Starbucks, then yes. You really have a way of arguing against things nobody said.

So the "Dirty Harry" poses only count if they are in a Starbucks?

But then I figured as much, since this is just another False Flag argument/discussion.

No problem!

I will continue to carry open, just like I am today (it's Friday, I'm carrying open and wearing red)

Those who want to shut us up because they don't like open carry, yet claim to be for the 2nd Amendment will have to deal with it.

Because we are the first line of defense, we are/will be the targets of the Government when they start trying to violate the 2nd A.

So those who only carry concealed/without anyone knowing (yes I know that some States have a CCW/LTCF license/permit, so some level of Government will know who you are) will have to to decide their next move.
We who carry open have already made that decision and know what the consequences may be for our action(s)

If they had just walked into Starbucks with pistols holstered on their hips, then it would have been within the realm of responsible gun ownership. Instead, some gun owners were unholstering their weapons and posing for photos with their friends that made it appear that they were Dirty Harry or Rambo.

I thought I'd provide a few visuals:

I do have to admit.. standing in front of the counter with a shotgun posed in front of you is a REALLY stupid stunt.. Yeah.. of course that's going to flip people out..

I love my guns.. and I got a BUG (black ugly gun) or two, but it's not a gun you sling over your shoulder and take to the coffee shop... I myself find that over the edge...

I've been quite a few places here in VA just outside DC where people commonly open carry.. but they don't make a show of it... I was at Denny's up the street one day.. Mom Dad and Son all had their Glocks on.. and weren't making a deal of it... Just sitting and eating... I thought it was pretty cool.. Now had they of pulled them out and posed for pictures, then I would have lost all respect for them...

Whether you are for or against guns, sadly it's the people to the extreme ends of the curves that ruin it for everyone.. .
