Knowing a little of a region's cultural divide along geographical boundaries makes that statement not necessarily so. I won't respond with specific links of maps and pictures, but the overwhelming majority of the "problem" lives in the south and southeastern quadrant of that country.
Of course broadcasting the attack ahead of time, allows the enemy to disperse to other areas.
For the sake of argument though, if a few are left, we could always drop another one.

I don't think "punishment" qualifies as a goal.

Next time we have a bunch of white people doing evil things like gassing victims (remind you of WWII at all?) , then I think we would handle it the same way as last time.
And yes, capital punishment for a capital crime IS a goal, IMO.

When you hear bomb explosions, that are not your own, it does not take long to get the idea, that is is time, to head for the hills.

This was the case in Iraq and Afghanistan, so it's not hard to believe, that those in Syria that should be hiding, already a a spot picked out.

Yeah but we don't execute entire neighborhoods or cities for the crimes of an individual.

Yes, thanks to that incredible in the White House.
Last time I checked, the speed of a Tomahawk missile leaves little time for a goodbye kiss.

I guess you never read much history from the last century.
Assad was not the sole individual who did this......he has a government and an army. You might want to ask a German or Japanese about how cases like that were handled.

When did Syria bomb pearl harbor? Or have war vessels off our coast?

They never have.
Please don't make me say something to get the moderators attention.
You know EXACTLY what the correlation is between bombing an enemy with civilian casualties is about.
You know EXACTLY what it means to bomb an enemy that gasses its people like Hitler did, or bomb the Japanese who did unspeakable things in their warfare.
Trying to make ME seem stupid will not go well, I'd try a different tactic if I were you.

As history has always shown in the ME, the bad guys, are more than happy to play the waiting game - whether it's 10 years, or 100 years. They don't care. They have guns, food and plenty of time, that's all they need.

FWIW there is still 90,000 (mostly US) coalition troops in Afghanistan.

Those Taliban savages, and many other militia groups, are not even bothering to wait, until we "exit".

There shoulda been some sort of military presense in place to stabilize. I'd elaborate but I wouldn't know what I'm talking about, its what I've read from military specialists speaking about how its supposed to be done. We had links back then, I'm sure you remember.

This from Ralph Peters, usually pretty vocal on whats being done...

http://joemiller.us/2013/09/video-ra...22c0-230980529

"Well, because it’s the most phenomenally stupid misuse of our military I’ve ever seen. No one in this administration has been able to explain what tangible vital security interest we have in Syria or in stopping this fighting. This military demonstration — and that’s what it’s going to be — is about Obama shooting off his mouth about red lines and chemical weapons. Now he feels he has to do something."
