I have always made it a point, to learn something, from everyone that I meet.

My response was yes, since my life-long OCD and multiple careers, plus requirements for survival, have take me in many different directions.

For instance, If I'm talking casually, with a Doctor, I surely don't lave a larger grasp of the medical profession, than he/she, but I can usually stand my ground quite well, on most all other subjects.

If I can't,t I'll gladly have them educate me - right on the spot.

if you think you're smart....spend 6 months working with adults with disabilities. you'll find you're not as smart as you think are or would like to be!!!

I didn't answer the poll. While I may have more education than the people that I meet, I find that I can always learn something useful from them. I'm often saying that I hope that my clients learn as much from me, as I learn from them.

I've also noticed that people with a lot of advanced degrees still have lapses in their education and knowledge. Everyone stands to learn something from someone else if they are open to the educational experience!

I consider smarter to mean I can figure stuff out on my own, and not relying on someone else to do/solve it for you.

Smart is not intelligent, nor wise. It is a combination of knowledge, skills, abilities.

Seen some 'booksmart' people that could not cook a meal. Seen some 'streetsmart' people who could not count change.

I have 2 brothers who have genius IQ's one has no common sense and the other has a very strange very dry sense of humour.I can"get " a lot of his jokes when others are left scratching their heads. Even DH sometimes wonders what he finds so funny!LOL

I have a high IQ andmy visula spatial ability tests int he 98% percentile I also have a TBI and my spellign sucks. Humility is a wonderful aspect and you sure learn to leaugh at yourself when you have wierd behaviors due to TBI, there is always someone you can learn from so no I don't consider myself smarter than pthers. I tend to find old people a greta source of info and little kids have an incredible honesty which a lo tof people think silly but life is about perspective and I love understanding others' perspectives.
Which is why I try very hard to see things from both sides of a story..
