I'm sorry, I must have missed the part where he got down & dirty with sexual details. If someone asked you if you were married, would you answer None of your Business or would you proclaim the number of years? If you said "I've been married to Mary(pick a name) for 27 years you in fact are telling the world what you do in your bedroom & that you're doing it with a woman. Straight or gay, any mention of a relationship does indicate what one is doing in the bedroom.

It's that simple.. Really!

Do you tell everyone what you and your spouse do in the bedroom or the city streets, even if asked?

No, I don't think so.. You tell them to mind their own business or go away.. You don't brag about it..

For anyone who has seen him is it a surprise?
Don't matter to me. I wasn't planning on asking him for a date anyway.

I hadn't the slightest idea who he is and why am I supposed to care if he is gay?

Exactly. What does his sexual preference have to do with the news of the day?

Lol so that explains why Shepard Smith is so catty sometimes. I love these guys who are so self-important that they think their "opinion" is the news. And they always try to direct their interviews to agree with their own personal opinions. Fair and balanced - lol.

Not really surprised about Cooper, but then don't really care. It's between them and God imo. I don't know why people feel the need to announce their preferences to the world. To me it'd be like me screaming "I'm heterosexual!!" to the world. Who cares? Really?

Well depending on who is asking "if I'm married" I won't answer them, except with "it's none of your business or some other such thing.. I haven't wore a wedding band for the last 32 years.. So you can decide what to think for yourself...

What cracks me up is there are many here who seems to think it's okay to tell their secrets to the world, but then get upset when others disagree with their conduct or the details of the secrets..

Those who choose to make their "dirty laundry" public deserve what they get.. Plain and Simple...

Don't come crying when you (in general) are treated wrongly if you divulged your "secrets".. I'm not saying to lie about it, but don't reveal them..

People, especially the media will use them to their advantage and your destruction.. No matter who or what political party you belong to.. Some one is going to use it against you.. Right or wrong, it doesn't matter, it will be done...

For example when stopped at a DUI check point and the Officer asked where I was heading and where I was coming from, I politely told the officer that was his business or his concern.. Which it wasn't.. Did he smell alcohol on me? NOPE! Did he smell other drug odors? NOPE! But he continued to ask for 20 minutes, but that's another story I've already posted before.... It still wasn't any of his business no matter what he did..

You want to divulge your "secrets"?

" If someone asked you if you were married, would you answer None of your Business or would you proclaim the number of years? "

It would depend on who was doing the asking .
I have answered before , " No, But My Wife Is ."

Cooper doesn't just

read the news. He has been a war correspondent for years, is in the battle zones alot.

He is not mean, he is just serious on the CNN news show.

On his daytime talk show he is a bit silly and when listening to him, he has a lot of feminine ways.

I have known he was gay for years.

Wow, what a bunch of judgemental folks on here. I think it is more the fact that he is gay that bothers some people here. So they feign disapproval for his willingness to be open about who he is.
As others have said, if you have ever watched any show with him on it, you could probably tell he was gay. He was just admitting what many already though. Andrew Sullivan is also another gay reporter and just asked what many were already thinking.
If it is not important to you, don't worry about it. But the rampant, "I didn't ask, so why are you telling me?" He was not telling you, he was being honest about what he thinks might help others who might be hiding who they are for fear of repercussions. Which based on the responses here by some, seems to be why they fear being who they are in the open.

LOL, didn't really notice any fear, but did see a lot of who cares..

That's what I don't understand. I've worked with gays in the past. They never said anything. I never knew until someone told me later based on an incident or two. Nowadays, my gaydar seems to be more developed.

I don't go around thinking, "That one's gay. That one isn't. That one isn't. That one is. ..." But Anderson Cooper pegged the gaydar a long time ago. So what's the big deal?

Other than maybe calibrating your gaydar and a few folks getting to smirk and say, "I told you so." it's no big deal. The question to ask is what's happening to his employer's ratings and does Cooper need a ratings pickme up.

I don't think it will help their ratings. Most people don't care. The ones who have a problem watching a gay read the news stopped watching long ago. Gay's are such a small percentage anyway, it probably won't help the ratings.

"Why do some people see themselves as important enough to think we need to know their sexual habits?"

Probably for the same reason other people see themselves as so important that they imagine gays are trying to gain THEIR "acceptance" or "approval".

The reason he has to exclaim it is because he is male. The natural assumption when someone looks at him is that he is sexually attracted to women because that is normally the case 90% of the time. Same with women being sexually attracted to men. So, in essence, he is saying, "Just because I am a man, don't assume I am attracted to women for I am a homosexual!"

Who cares if he is gay?

That is the entire point!

But you trying to tell me or others that question his reasoning behind publicly announcing his sexual preferences, is just an act because we secretly hate gays is a freaking joke..

Edited by me...

lol, he was asked and he answered, it's not like he bought a Superbowl slot.

Never seen so many drama queens with dirty fingernails and farmer tans.

So are you gay, bi, metro?

Do you like the feel of nylons and heels?

So your answers should be none of my dang business.. And you would be correct, it isn't any of my business..

But why do you and others feel the need to announce it to the world?

Trying to get approval for something that needs no approval from others, unless you "invite" them into the discussion..
