Early homesteading experience

Ok, the ladies do seem to be respecting us.... so I thought I would tell yall a little story about one of my early experiences as a homesteader. I had done my homework, and had narrowed down where I wanted to live. It was either among the hillbillies of KY or the yahoos in my homestate of Oregon. I finally opted for KY... and heres why.

I had looked around all over Oregon and found a little 20 acre patch I could buy in John Day valley. It was perfect.... remote, secluded, had some timber on it, a lil stream that I could use for water and potential hydroelectric power someday and about 10 acres of good fertile hay/pasture/garden dirt. I had just got camp set up and was laying out a place for a cabin when "Buck" came wandering in. He was a rather large, rough looking sort of guy, but friendly enough. He introduced himself and even offered to pitch in and help clearing a little brush. We had worked a bit, chatting about this that and the other and finally I opted to take a break. Buck was all good with that too and we sat there on a couple rocks flapping our gums a while, long enough to swallow a couple beers anyway. Somewhere right along in there Buck invited me over to his place the following saturday to a party he was throwing. I thought to myself.... what a great way to get to know the folks in the neighborhood so I said sure, what time? He said along about sundown. Then he hesitated a little bit, and told me that he hoped I would be ok with some of the folks... something about a good bit of drinking goes on... I just held up my beer and told him.... thats just not a problem for me. He then cautioned me about some of the folks other habits... something about there might be some drugs too. Hmmm ok, I am pretty open minded and told him thats ok, not my business what others do. Then he goes on to put me on notice that there might even be some kinky sex going on..... again... I am pretty open minded about what others do so that was ok with me too. I could see that Bucks list of friends and neighbors were going to be rather interesting to say the least. So then I asked if I should bring anything to which he responded.... naw, just show up about dark. I asked what I should wear? was it formal, casual? Buck just looked at me and grinned.... It dont matter.... wont nobody be there cept me and you.....

I have really enjoyed living in Kentucky the past 30 years!!!!

Honey do lists

Ok, how do you guys handle the perpetual list of things that the little woman seems to think is all important.... but cant seem to do themselves? I just got through reading a thread up in homesteading questions about some kind of weeds growing under the cloths line.... and some how or another the ladies all seem to think its a bad husband who wont get rid of those weeds. I personally dont understand why its his job or why he is a bad guy for not handling this issue properly when grown up women really should be able to find the hoe and rake, and deal with it themselves.

An old guy walks into a pharmacy and is asking the pharmacist about Viagra. He inquires if he can get it "over the counter". The pharmacist replies, "You can if you take enough of them."

Funny thing was....it always made my headache go away; either that or a very hot shower on the neck,
along with a couple aspirin. When it was so numb from the heat, that I couldn't feel much else....
the headache was usually gone as well. 'Course by that time she'd gone to sleep and didn't want to be disturbed ......

And she never wanted to take a shower together and possibly help make either of our headaches go away!!!
The parents of a friend of a friend, were on their honeymoon. The groom goes into the bedroom with two aspirin tablets and a glass of water. The bride asks, "What's that for?" The groom says, "It's for your headache." The bride says, "I don't have a headache." The groom smiles and says, "Good!"

Warning: Older men scam

Women often receive warnings about protecting themselves at the mall and in dark parking lots, etc. This warning is for men. I wanted to pass it on in case you haven't heard about it.
-
A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular customers at Lowe's, Home Depot, Costco, BJ's, and even Wal-Mart and the feed store. This one caught me totally by surprise. Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies is nothing like it used to be. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends.
-
Here's how the scam works:
-
Two nice-looking, college-aged girls will come over to your car or truck as you are packing your purchases into your vehicle. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts (It's impossible not to look). When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' but instead ask for a ride to McDonald's. You agree and they climb into the vehicle. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.
-
I had my wallet stolen September 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th, & 29th. Also November 1st & 4th, twice on the 8th, 16th, 20th, and very likely again this upcoming weekend.
-
So tell your friends to be careful. What a horrible way to take advantage of us older men. Warn your friends to be vigilant.
-
Wal-Mart has wallets on sale for$2.99 each. I found even cheaper ones at the Dollar Store and bought them out in three of their stores.
-
Also, you never get to eat at McDonald's. I've already lost 11 pounds just running back and forth from Lowe's, to Home Depot, to Costco, Etc.
-
Please, send this on to all the older men that you know and warn them to be on the lookout for this scam.
-
(The best times are just before lunch and around 4:30 in the afternoon)

Dang, ya'll gotta quit with them jokes,my side is hurting from laughing already.

I've thought, if I ever get another blue tic coon hound pup, and he makes a decent coon hound,I'd start calling him "Viagra".I can almost here them old men setting around the heater at the country store, now.

Well how come you named him that,EB,they will ask??Well,I'll say,he's always ready to go hunting when I am.Every coon he runs,he puts up(trees),and he makes sure every coon he puts up,stays up until I get to the tree, no matter how long it takes me.Just seems like a fitting name to me.

Yes,Gregg Alexander you can use it for one of your pups too,and the rest of you coon hunters as well.Just don't start lying and saying your dog has "Viagra"credentials, when all he does is tree hot popups and is gone before you get to the tree.

And by some kind of miracle, you do happen to get there before he leaves, the tree is empty as usual.
We wouldn't want a sorry good for nothing, lying coon hound,to blemish the name (Viagra)now would we??

Would almost be as bad as this lying good for nothing Usurper of ours thats holed up in the White House, and calling himself the president. What a blemish he is to the office of President.

Looks can be deceiving... Man cave (for men only) - General Chat
Man cave (for men only) - General Chat PS:if you do have a registered Blue Tic with papers, might orta hold them up to the sun and look through them to tell if they are real.I've heard the forged ones when you look through them, you'll see images of Redbones,Plotts,Walkers and such. Some forged so bad that every now and then someone spots a poodle.Just be careful and give those papers some serious examination. lol eb
