Well, I pretty much buy ONLY canola oil for cooking, but I avoid things like margarine and processed (ie. boxed) foods whenever possible. I'm also now trying to phase out canned food in tins do to the BPA.

I am not sure how much meat the grocery stores raise, last I heard most of their meat products are initially purchased from farmers, who raised the critters on farms.

Good one! I simply mean farm raised as in home grown. Shoulda clarified it. I am a farmer, for the record. I make my living farming. I like HOME GROWN stuff more than conventionally raised stuff generally. lol

I avoid buying anything if I can avoid it.... my business has slowed down to a trickle. {I know it's 'bad', but a good ol fashioned natural gas disaster somewhere would sure help my bottom line}.

I avoid buying any product made by Unionized Labor. I refuse to support the enemies of freedom. I use to buy Carhartt products, even though they had a 100% markup, simply because of the union goldbrick..... but, alas, even they've moved their production to Mexico. Now I find it hard to buy their $40 jeans... you move 'elsewhere' the prices you should be wayyyyy less.

Don't buy enough 'store bought food' to matter...

I do so appreciate the dirt cheap multi tool sets, that obviously come from China or 3rd world countries. Have a couple dozen of the kits on hand. I find that a single bit out of a kit is less than a single bit, if bought alone. Bought a half dozen kits this Christmas... and was thinking about one of them.... $2.50 for 70 something tiny parts... it'd cost more than that, just in labor, to put all those tiny tools "in" the box. I'd love to find such fantastic kits made in the USA..... but I don't think a single one is made here, or, ever will be, ever again, until we go to war with China. And even then, those kits will not be made here.

I won't touch canola oil either. It's from a poison plant called rape seed.

I won't buy crisco, it's cotton seed oil, and was used for air planes in WW2. It is an industrial product, not a food.

I won't buy margarine, it is a form of plastic, we use butter. I won't buy canola oil. I won't buy aspartame products, they cause brain tumors. I won't buy aluminum cookware. I don't buy soy products. I don't buy CFH bulbs, the curlyque things are full of mercury. I don't buy and flourescent bulbs at all. They mess up your polarity and are just bad for you. There are other things too, but these come to my mind first.

If I had to choose just one thing not to every touch it would be aspartame. Out of all of them that is the most dangerous.

Crisco shortening is made from soybean and palm oils.

Ditto that. It even tastes like poison and it's ironic, isn't it? Every day there's all these tens of millions of people washing down the diet pop sweetened with aspartame because they think it's better for them than sugar or high fructose corn syrup. Eating other sweet foods that are advertised as "light" and "calorie wise" that are sweetened with aspartame.

In reality they're destroying their brain cells and poisoning their whole systems with one of the most insidiously toxic substances that was ever invented by man.

I don't buy those products either, because I don't use them in the first place.

False, as mentioned before. It is related, but produces edible oil, in fact it is the oil with the lowest saturated fat content, among other extremely healthy attributes.
