Another article that questions the EPA's findings:

Well the epa should be Cut Off at the Head. That way we can start over from scratch and git rid of the most over the top in Power Happy government agency there has been pin many years.
So anything they happen to come out with should always be taken with a grain of salt. And at the same time put the left foot up on a step so the body does not lean left so much and that step will at least straighten a person in somewhat of a upright position.

Why do you assume I was talking about you , if you're not guilty?
It's not my fault you don't like the answers

That's no reason to resort to name calling and profanity is it?

this is interesting information that merits consideration.
It's been "considered" and found lacking

That radioactive plume went over North America on the jet stream - there was more of the plume passed directly over Canada than over USA - USA just got the outer southern fringes of it. So by rights it should have effected Canada even more than USA. I just looked at all the birth and death statistics for Canada and there have not been any more unprecedented deaths in Canada for 2011 than there was in the 4 preceding years.

So I think that article is just a lot of fear-mongering nonsense.

Because you added my response as a quote to your reply, and I did no name calling towards anyone in particular nor use any profanity. Your responses to anything I post are belittling, I do not care if you disagree, you mean nothing in the big picture nor do I.

Maybe Godzilla will wake up again.....

Wasn't it the Hiroshima/Nagasaki nukes that created Godzilla?

Having said all that, glad I don't live on the NW coast. I could imagine an Asian dwarf's son launching a nuke at the US, and the PNW would be about the max range he could muster....

That would be a bad move. Only thing left after that would be the island of South Korea.

You make denials quite often, and not just to me.
Why is it so many think you call names or use insults if you don't?

But the words in your post are still there to be seen.

Which should be believed?
The written proof, or the denial after the fact?

I added your question, and then answered it.
Anything that came before then had nothing at all to do with you, unless the shoe fits.

Don't throw a hissy fit if you don't like the answers to questions you asked

I went and looked up the actual article, not an article about the article. I didn't want to pay for it, so I just read the abstract. That was enough for me to say, "Um...yeah, right".

http://baywood.metapress.com/app/hom...lts,1:300313,1

At the least it's very poor application of statistics. At the very worst, it's hysterical hype with an agenda.

Joseph J Mangano, the lead author, also happens to be executive director of the "radiation and public health project" at "radiation.org" a site with a definite agenda, plain to see by anyone who visits the site. He also does not have any kind of scientific degree. He's not even a Ph.D. He's a flipping MBA (he should know better than to abuse statistics that way) and a MPH.

He's all over the internet with an anti-nuke message. In some cases, he is portrayed as "Dr." which he is NOT.

I would love to see the whole article, but am not going to reward these people with my hard earned money. I would bet dollars to donuts that he probably is his own number one reference! That is quite common amongst those who like to pretend that they are engaged in real science.

It's bull pucky.

I just read the entire report. Suffice to say that while it does at least bear some investigation, it ALSO assumes a lot. There are more than a few times in the research paper that it says "Info was not submitted" or "We can compare data to this area....."

Furthermore, overall, there are more than a few times where it is deemed 'highly significant' that deaths rose in a certain time of the year....and then the overall average deaths per year remains almost exactly the same.

Lastly, a cursory examination of the information and facts surrounding those involved with the site (Gould, Sternglass, Mangano, etc.) makes it fairly clear that at the very LEAST, their work virtually REQUIRES extremely critical examination.

Interesting report, yes. Conclusive? Not in the least.

This is just hogwash. All that trash that was washed into the sea got there long before the troubles with the reactor arose.
