"Fleetwood Mac - Oh Well"

Written by peter green.

I cant help about the shape Im in
I cant sing, I aint pretty and my legs are thin
But dont ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to

Oh well

Now, when I talked to God I knew hed understand
He said, stick by my side and Ill be your guiding hand
But dont ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to..

Nothing like getting a slight buzz ...kicking back and enjoying some killer guitar work........ life is good !

Countrybumpkin 12/04/11 06:18 PM

man, that takes me back....dig old Jimi, zep, and Janis. Those blues beats rocked!Groovy stuff-might have to go dig into the music archives now-you've taken me back...

Yup, they were a British blues band before they went all California!

I lurve Stevie Nicks, though. Hell, it's been 30 years, and I still have her hair! :D :pound:

LOL, willow... so do I!

But, when you have hair like this, it kinda does it own thing all the time, anyway! :hair

willow_girl 12/04/11 09:51 PM

Well, you are lucky! I have to pay good money to make my hair look this way. Heck, nowadays it's hard to find a stylist who even knows how to do a spiral wrap! I went to a new salon last time and got some young thang; I'm not sure she had ever given a perm before ... she had to ask a middle-aged co-worker what to do!

I was a little nervous :teehee: but in the end, she did a nice job. :)

I felt really old one day when I saw Stevie Nicks on TV and realized that even she doesn't have Stevie Nicks hair anymore! :hysterical:

:pound: When I was younger and would complain about my curly hair, my mom would say, "You're lucky! Some people pay good money to have hair like that!"

Did you know my mom? :rotfl:

More old Fleetwood Mac ... the original version of "Sentimental Lady" from "Bare Trees," with Christine McVie singing backup.

Most people are more familiar with Bob Welch's later remake from his solo album "French Kiss" (which is a delightful slice of cheezy 70's pop, shamelessly glorifying casual sex! Ah, those were the days.) :D

And here is a nice (decent audio) live version of "Gold Dust Woman" with Bob Welch playing ... and a young Stevie in a purple miniskirt! <drool>

When I was 15, I was madly in lurve with her! Not only was she gorgeous, but some of her lyrics hinted at the fact that she
might just like girls! :teehee: :D

willow_girl 12/04/11 10:12 PM

ARRRRRGGHHHHH! Where did you get that old pic of me?!

willow_girl 12/04/11 10:13 PM

Umm... and what other pics of me are floating around on the Internet, I wonder? :teehee:

willow_girl 12/04/11 10:52 PM

Your hair is gorgeous!!! I'd kill to have hair like that. :pound:

EasyDay 12/04/11 10:57 PM

Thanks, but I always wanted NORMAL hair! :D Funny how that works! My DD got a medium mix... lots of wave, but normal. Her hair is beautiful!

*****************

JTM... sorry we hijacked your thread with hair.

If I was buzzed, too, it wouldn't have happened... I promise!!

EasyDay 12/04/11 11:03 PM

Ok... only one more pic so willow can see my daughter's hair!

http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...Home/Nikki.jpg

I would KILL for her hair!!

:D

naturelover 12/05/11 03:05 AM

LOL, this is so funny how so many women aren't happy with their hair and keep on wanting to change it.

EasyDay, your daughter's hair is what my hair is like (different color though) but I'm never happy with it, I like your hair much better. So much more versatile for doing up in different styles when it has that kind of spiral curl to it like you have.

BTW, your daughter is an absolutely stunning beauty and I bet you and her dad are very proud of her.

We always seem to want we we don't have, don't we? :D

Wow... you have hair like that? I'm so jealous!! Funny that you'd say curly hair is versatile... everyone has always said "you can do anything with it!"... but the truth is, it only stays the way you put it if you stay inside. A little humidity or wind gust, and it's all over the place again! After 50 years, I've made peace with it... most days! ;)

Thanks so much! Yep, we made good-looking kids. The only positive things that came out of that union! LOL

willow_girl 12/05/11 08:46 AM

She's lovely! Does she model?

Thanks, willow! She did for a little while... smaller agencies. But, she stays busy... and makes more money... bartending. She likes that pocket full of money every night, rather than having to wait to get paid! :D The younger generation is all about "instant gratification".

How much do I love Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks in particular?? I had a dog named Mick for 10 years and I named my daughter Rhiannon :)

Hairdresser Tip:

For those who want the curly look to last longer, opt for a piggyback wrap instead of a spiral perm. With a spiral perm, each section of hair is wrapped around a single perm rod. This makes the curls tighter at the bottom of the hair and looser at the scalp. After growing and being washed over time the hair closest to the scalp becomes straighter which makes you feel that you've outgrown the perm. A piggyback wrap uses two (or sometimes more than two) perm rods and it allows the hair to be wrapped more tightly and better exposed to the perming solution. You won't end up looking like a poodle with supertight curls. Instead you end up with consistently sized spirals that take much longer to grow out.

While I've always loved Stevie Nicks' and Bonnie Raitt for their raspy voices, I have Chaka Khan's hair when I go too long without a relaxer perm!

willow_girl 12/07/11 11:21 PM

MartianChick, I can't find ANYBODY here who will do a piggyback wrap! I could barely get someone to give me a spiral perm, LOL.

It took me 4 years to find a hairdresser here who does a passable job. Yes, I know my hairstyle isn't trendy, but it's what I want, dang it! <rant> <rant>

OK, I think Trixter wins the "biggest fan" contest! Although I did have a cat named Rhiannon; shouldn't that count for something? :hysterical:

SageLady 12/08/11 06:13 AM

Saw Fleetwood Mac in concert in Kansas City 2 years ago. They were minus Christine McVie, but they were still AWESOME!! The best concert I think I have ever soon. Lindsay Buckingham is an amazing guitarist! And Mick Fleetwood on the drums, also amazing! Stevie can still sing great, although her voice is probably an octave lower now than 30 or so more years ago. They can really rock for being in their 60's!!!! :)

About a year ago I recommended to my daughter that she should try a piggy back perm and we called at least 12 salons NO ONE knew what we were talking about! I finally asked one salon if they had a hairdresser over the age of 40, lol. Uuumm... they didn't, oldest one was 29.:stars:

Rhiannon used to hate her name when she was little, now she loves i and of course is a big fan of Fleetwood Mac. And yes, you get kudos for your cat named Rhiannon, it's a great name for cats too :)

I have noticed Stevie making several appearances on TV for various shows like The Voice and a couple of other shows. I haven't looked to see if the band is currently touring but that is one show I would love to see as I have not seen them as a band in about 20 years and last saw Stevie a few years ago.

They have always had to do a piggyback wrap to perm my hair because I have so much hair.

thats cool I did too.

SageLady 12/10/11 03:49 AM

I named my DD Sarah, after another song of Fleetwood Mac. Had just found out I was pregnant and heard their song "Sarah" played on the radio. First time I had heard it - the song had just come out. Loved it and decided to name my baby Sarah if it was a girl, and she was! She loves her name! :) She came to their concert with me in KC and got to hear the song of her name firsthand...

Linsay2231 12/11/11 09:02 PM

No way!!! I named my daughter Rhiannon too....I thought it was a rare name?!? I have never met anyone else with the name!
