Maybe in 1948.
"While agricultural workers make up only 3.7% of the work force, Israel produces 95% of its own food requirements, supplementing this with imports of grain, oil seeds, meat, coffee, cocoa and sugar.[2]
Israel is home to two unique types of agricultural communities, the kibbutz and moshav, which developed as Jews from all over the world immigrated to the country and embarked on a pioneering enterprise."

Well, it usually states, particularly in the Old testament, which I realize is somewhat outdated, but it always refers to men first, and about women being obedient to their husbands. And this is no Dorito.

Upon reflection, the thread does have much to do with homesteading. After we go bankrupt handing out welfare to the world, we are going to need our homesteading skills to survive.
I was just reading the many examples of currency collapse various countries have experienced through printing money to cover their need to spend.

How does that make them worth less?

Both men and women are made in God's image so both are valuable. God created Adam first. He was to be the lover, leader and protector of his wife. Eve helped Adam her husband to work in the garden and before the fall, they both communed with God daily. Husbands are commanded not to be harsh with their wives and to love them as their own bodies, to protect, nourish and cherish them as Christ loved His church (enough to die for her). Women are commanded to submit to their husband's leadership and to respect them. Men and women are both sinners so sometimes do abuse their God-given authority just as some bosses will abuse their authority over their workers. All men and women will give an account to God for the way they treat others and for every sin they have committed.

That the woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam; not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved.--Matthew Henry

Going back to the OP, not all Christians necessarily agree with Pastor Hagee and dispensationalism and the idea that we as Christians must support the secular government of Israel. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Those who have the faith of Abraham are children of Abraham, both Jews and Gentiles.
Quote:
|
Galatians 3:6Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. 7Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
|
Dispensationalism is a modern invention and is not the position of the historic reformed church. It is newer than the theory of Evolution.

3:26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
...16Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Galatians 5:5For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Quote:

Galatians 6:14But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. 15For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. 16And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

Quote:

Romans 2:28,29 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.
