Did you link to the article you read or did you just expect everyone to know what you read?
It's in the OP, and was the only article referred to, so I figured most could keep up with the conversation

I re-posted it in #19 I will re-post it here:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Attention Target shoppers: You could have been standing in line with Michelle Obama.

The first lady, hard to recognize in a baseball cap and sunglasses, shopped Thursday at a Target Corp. store in Alexandria, Va., just outside Washington.

Casually dressed Secret Service agents arrived about a half-hour before Mrs. Obama, who walked in through the main entrance with an assistant. She spent 30 to 40 minutes shopping, pushing her own cart. She apparently was recognized only by the cashier who rang up her purchases.

Since coming to the White House, Mrs. Obama has lamented missing out on what she calls "normal stuff," like Target runs.

She isn't the first first lady to try to go out unrecognized. Hillary Rodham Clinton went for walks wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, too.

The article I read sounded like "sneaking" to me:
Doesnt sound like that to me at all.
You make that sound like you read some other article.
Especially when theres nothing to substantiate that statement in the linked article

Funny others who actually read the article followed along just fine.

Of course there is.
Read carefully and pay attention to details.

You've quoted part of it twice yourself

If you're "trying to be unrecognized", you're SNEAKING:

2. Unavowed; secret.

adjective

1. having one's identity concealed, as under an assumed name, especially to avoid notice or formal attentions.

Maybe , maybe not, since there seems to be some confusion, when all the information is in plain sight

Good old Jimmy Carter did sneak away from the SS to go fishing while he was trying to run the country into the ground. Obuma is staying home and getting the job done. He just sent his wife in his place. The big thing I can say about this thing is "SO WHAT." I do not care where she goes just so after the next election they both go away.

Yep, it was a photo op. The White House alerted an AP photographer before she went.

Ummmmmm - what exactly would she have to buy? I'm under the impression the President and family live in the White House with EVERYTHING provided - food, clothing, snacks, etc.

Am I wrong about this? Does the Presidential family pay for ANYTHING while at the White House?

The President is given a budget to run the White House. My understanding is that if they manage to blow it all before the year is over congress has always given more.
