I sort of see the point sports stars earning so much per year after all you can only play so many years and some don't even make it that long.

What do they do with it all.

They do whatever they want to with it, at least what doesnt get redistributed by the government. Thats the whole idea behind what makes America great... everyone is supposed to be entitled to be all they can be, to grab the brass ring and fly. Some do well, others sit on their butts and whine. I have pretty much had my shot, and missed... but I am all good with those that do get theirs. And I certainly do not complain because they got where they did. I have some fairly bright grandkids... and I hope they will be able to have the same chance to "win" that all those others through our history have had. Not many countries in the world have ever allowed the common citizen the right to prosper... lets keep this one going in that direction if we can.

A tudor for a child -40 grand per year
Private school for child 75 grand per year
donation for major city to have food to give out to those in need. 10 grand
massage 200 dollars plus tip
The yard man 200 dollars
the man who came to clean the car at her home 225 dollars

They spend it. So would I. My list might be different. For the most part those I know with money are very caring people who have been burned by fake friends thus they can put up a wall to persons who are phony. They have feeling too. Money can make for a lonly life. It takes guts to have money.

Katie's was a 5 years deal, not a per year.
Does a teacher bring millions/billions of revenue into their employer like Katie (and others) do?

I don't earn millions. I was just wondering what they do with it ALL. I would not mind making just the amount per year of the Bush tax cut they get for one million dollars though. After seeing the stock market reports for the last few day I suppect they are looseing a bunch there.

State politions here in Michigan make more than Teachers do. They vote raises for themselves and teachers can't. In fact here in Michigan they (teachers) are supposed to give back some of what they earn and pay for part of their health care. The politions didn't and won't .

BUt again the question was what do they do with it all, not why they are worth that and all other answers.

I doubt they have pools, or lawns to have taken care of. I think they live in fancy up town apartments.

I never said there was anything wrong with the amount made. I just figured it up to compare. I was wondering what they would do with it, and it tends to help having something to compare it to. Since Katies income income for three hours equals an average persons annual wage, I cannot fathom what to do with all of it.

You make $25k a year and you qualify for a $100k house, so that's what you buy.

Katie makes $11 million per year and qualifies for a $44 million dollar house, so that's wht she buys. She needs to maintain that type of house just like you need to maintain your house, albeit she needs to spend quite a bit more to maintain hers.

It's all relative---

That being said, it does annoy me that policemen, firemen, ambulance drivers, teachers, etc...make so much less than entertainers and sports people.

I also imagine they contribute quite a bit to campaign funds.

I think quite a few put their money into business enterprises, and charitable organizations. I know one family who is fairly well off that spend 5 days a week, 8 hours a day researching needy causes and figuring out how to best give their money away where it will do the most good. Lousy conservatives! nothing better to do with their time, they wouldnt take a paying job if you begged them to.

Just like Scrooge McDuck. I loved those comics where he'd be doing the backstroke in one of his giant standing vaults full of cash getting ready to send his nephew, Donald Duck off on a mission against the Beagle Boys.

I really don't have a problem with what they make. Something is worth what someone will pay for it, no more - no less. I just wish they would take just a small part of their incomes and buy some history books, like maybe something about the Founders, or the Federalist Papers. If they did, I'd probably start watching them again.
