TOP 25 or SO , Members ..."IGnored" , List !

...............How do you feel about the ADM posting a Top 25 list of the Most Ignored members , without listing their names , rather just list them by the Number who have 'Ignored' them ! I'm sure I'd make the top 10 ! , fordy:hysterical:

bowdonkey 05/22/11 01:53 PM

I got myself on ignore!

katy 05/22/11 02:03 PM

I would find it extremely interesting. Because it is so rarely spoken of I just assume people are unfamiliar with using it. With that said I'm currently not using it at all. I find it easier to simply skip General Chat and posts of users who seem to stir the pot, especially when there is no opinion or information forthcoming.

So yes, I would like to see it and how many people are using it, must be meaningful.

beccachow 05/22/11 03:15 PM

I went off on a tangent and ignored someone once quite a long while ago when they attacked me personally and completely unprovoked. But I saw their posts in quotes on other posts, and I realised said individual has some things that are ok after all. I un-ignored them and have even responded to the individual here and there; as long as there is no repeat of that performance that caused me to get so angry, I enjoy reading what they have to say after all. That is the only time I ignored someone, and I wouldn't have done it had the attack been personally against ME for some reason. I tried to play nice for a few responses, then lost my temper and hit "ignore." Lasted about two weeks, I think. The individual probably never even knew they were "ignored," lol. So who really lost there?

fantasymaker 05/22/11 03:53 PM

Id assume people would only ignore those they disagree with. In discussion type threads what would be the point of just seeing your own veiwpoint repeated?
I suppose there are those like that.

Unregistered-1427815803 05/22/11 03:57 PM

I'm sure that a lot of members have other members on ignore because their POV is usually inflammatory to them. Then some other members have people on ignore because they think their every post is pure pablum. Lot of people have me on ignore because I'm better looking than they are. Sad and immature, but what can I do?? I can't help it if I'm lucky..

Terri in WV 05/22/11 04:01 PM

I think it would be interesting but then I'd wonder if the ones that are on the ignored list are the same ones I ignore without using the ignore button. And would that list be bigger than the ones who are just ignored without the button?

If anything you have good taste in room decor zong.

Unregistered-1427815803 05/22/11 04:44 PM

Lordy mercy, I recognize jealousy when I see it. LOL. Actually it is my youngest daughters room, cleaned out but not prepped for painting. She had the sliding door mirrors. Most you guys didn't look this good at 30!!! And remember, based on the last 2 experiences I've had(2 months worth!!) whoever treats me the worst will own me. At least for a while....

bowdonkey 05/22/11 04:49 PM

LMAO! I hope things go well zong.

I think it would be rather tacky, and make the site itself look bad. Community sites are supposed to be about sharing information, kindness, social outlets, idea sharing.... They aren't supposed to be little girl's social clubs (or little boy's social clubs) used to be catty to each other. That is childish. If a member behaves in a manner that is poor, then ignore them. But to retaliate by saying, "look who we don't like and ignore" is also poor behavior.

But... do you have FURNITURE in your home?? ( and a LEFT arm) Thats important on a resume.

Unregistered-1427815803 05/22/11 09:14 PM

LOL, it looks like its the left arm that's missing, but its a double reverse negative.I wish every room in my house was this empty. If so, I might only need one room instead of however many there are now. I mean, after all, when you're alone you don't need a lot of rooms.

Sawmill Jim 05/22/11 09:32 PM

Zong mind if i copy that picture ??? I think i could hang in in the outhouse to keep the mice out :help::eek::hysterical:

Unregistered-1427815803 05/22/11 09:43 PM

jealousy looks so bad, Jim. So bad. But I understand. You probably want to copy it and put it on POF or whatever the latest singles site is.

salmonslayer 05/22/11 11:02 PM

I've never put anyone on ignore and I think it would actually bug me not knowing what was being said because you would see others responding to the ignored person; as a matter of fact I am always curious to know what was said in the posts deleted by the monitors...I always seem to miss those. But if each member had a picture attached to their forum name I might change my mind about using the ignore feature...(just funnin ya Zong)

Yup-have to go along w/this...and the fact that I DO NOT KNOW HOW. :ashamed:
Nor do I know how to 'BOLD". Or even what that thingy that says "quote+" is for... but i'm :cute:
Plus, if there was a top 25 'ignorant' list w/o posting names, how would anyone know who's on it???

Oxankle 05/23/11 12:07 PM

Of course there are people here who do not agree with your views. Everyone here thinks that their own opinion is the right one, even if they have screwed up their lives so that they live under a bridge and eat from dumpsters. Generally the more screwed up they are the more resolutely they defend their opinions.

Then there are those wonderful souls who are good company even though they are so unlearned that some of their comments clash with reality. In short, some people serve to irritate, some to amuse and some to inspire. Why ignore any of them?

JHinCA 05/23/11 11:38 PM

On one occasion I put someone on ignore because their avatar photo was repulsive to me. They have since changed it. It wasn't zong.

Immaculate Sublimity 05/26/11 09:48 AM

what on earth is a double reverse negative? now I have to look this up.

the mama 05/27/11 10:25 AM

I post and seldom get any recognition for my input. So I must win the ignore crown.

Unregistered-1427815803 05/27/11 10:50 AM

Nice post, mama.

lilmizlayla 05/27/11 10:50 AM

i never use it, I consider myself a mature adult. nor do i run to the mods when somebody disagrees...despite the fact that i got pmed before being accused of it. <rolls eyes>.

watcher 05/27/11 01:53 PM

I'd probably be in the top 10 of people on ignore.

Common Tator 05/27/11 02:42 PM

I've never used a computer function to "put someone on ignore" but I have chosen to ignore some posters.

I have asked another poster to put me on ignore when their posts to me or about me get hot and hateful. It seemed that anything I said caused them to go ballistic.

Kung 05/27/11 02:50 PM

I see this thread on Ignore Lists, but there's no posts in here. Funny...

:D

I had a couple of people on ignore because they were simply trolls and idiots (truly...made absolutely no sense when they posted, or would prod and twist the words of others. ...now that I think back on it, might have been drunks....)

The problem with putting someone on ignore is that if others are talking about him/her, you wonder "why? what did they do NOW?" and then have to go hunting for the posts. Doubling your irritation. :D

Farmerwilly2 05/27/11 07:51 PM

I always figured ignore lists were the cyber equivalent of burying your head in the sand or taking your ball and running home when the other kids don't play nice. I prefer to grow a tough skin and a strong back. If folks are being bullies or jerks call them on it, don't roll over. Too many people in this country rolling over when it gets tough.

Farmer Willy, the problem with this is that this is a moderated forum. You can be absolutely factually correct and be civilized in your dealings with other posters, and still get a PM or a warning from the Mods if you are going at it with another poster.

That is exactly why I put a couple of people on ignore. If I get in trouble for my responses to them I put them on ignore. Saves the mods the trouble having to call me down and keeps the board more peaceful. Seems like a win/win to me. :) And I honestly never wonder what they post.

Really? That's just a pathetic excuse for not being able to discuss a topic in an intelligent manor. But, it explains why I maybe on your ignore list! It seems that liberals are FAR more likely to place someone on ignore than conservatives. Just an observation!

MoonRiver 05/30/11 02:49 PM

I love a good discussion (argument), but a few on here (in the past) made everything personal. Seems like about the time I put them on ignore, they got suspended anyway. And I ignore whiners. Just brings me down to read their posts.

Gads, Jeffrey, what a racist remark.

;) (as close to sarcasm as i can get)

Patt 05/30/11 04:13 PM

I think what I find funniest are the people who know they are ignored and it just chafes them to no end! Doesn't bother me one bit to know I am on anyone's ignore list, I say good for them if it makes their world a better place to ignore me. :thumb:

Doesn't "chafe" me at all! It just tell me a lot about the poster who chooses to put folks on ignore! :D

FeralFemale 05/30/11 06:15 PM

I've only put one person on ignore in my life, in a forum I used to hang out in years ago. She was a cyber bully and would follow me around from post to post and say nasty things about me for no reason whatsoever. I tried contacting the site's mods, but I never got a reply. It was a very, very large community and had little moderation.

My cyber bully was a Queen Bee and it was like that movie Mean Girls. None of the other women ever joined in and remained neutral, as we were both well liked by the rest of the board, but I eventually left when I realized none of them ever defended me even from her worst attacks. Not even my so-called (internet) friends. There are situations where you just shouldn't remain neutral, and this was one of them.
