Olberman has taped his last show at MSNBC
 

It was just on the news that Olberman is out at MSNBC and neither side is saying much.

Good riddance.

Well, that's not good. I may think he's a total loon... and totally lacking in couth... but hey, he had what, a million fellow uncouth loons watching him... what are they going to do now, settle for Rachel Maddow?

Reckon I should have watched at least one of his shows (I don't watch, as a rule, any political/entertainment programs, except the sunday morning programs...).

Really, I don't hate him but I've never heard anyone so hateful in my life as he is.

He just proves over and over again that a mind really is a terrible thing to waste.

Too bad he didn't grab Lawrence O'Donnell, an avowed :censored: socialists, by the collar and drag him out to.

NPR might hire him. I heard that they have an opening.

I just heard that his contract (which still had 2 years left) specifically states that he is not allowed to work for another network for 'an extended period of time'.

To enforce that they will probably need to continue to pay him.

It really is too bad. He is a lightning rod for the Loons, and when he is around you know where to find them. I wonder if he is catching some behind-the-scenes heat over threats he has inspired?

But, O'Reilly, Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, are all good????

Olberman was just a sour person who had nothing good to say about anyone and his departure has been long overdue as he has increasingly gotten almost maniacal and insane sounding. He even sounds the same way when he is doing sports casting and he turns what is supposed to be fun (sports) into mean spirited sounding commentary.

He has been fired from just about every job he has had which should tell you something.

I dont have cable anymore so I dont see any of those shows but it sounds like MSNBC was trying to outdo on the left what Fox has done to the right...except they pick unattractive (personality wise) people that most people dont really like even if they eat up the liberal message.

The news is reporting that the two top bigshots at COMCAST lean more right and that they plan a shakeup of the MSNBC lineup to get them closer to center and I dont doubt that the COMCAST merger had a part in his leaving, even if Olberman just saw the handwriting on the wall. I think the buffoon known as Chris Matthews isnt long for his show..he always lags in the ratings and his sound bites are usually embarrassing.

Something tells me that there will be some changes at Fox as well.

After all Beck WAS on CNN~! Now on Fox. And a few others have been on other MSM networks. Fox will just get stronger and stronger lol.

That would be a masterstroke on the part of Fox.

Something like a panel show with the most outrageous TV personalities from both ends of the political spectrum interviewing even more outrageous bloggers. Call it "America's Most Opinionated"

keep forgetting to watch Piers Morgan who took over for Larry King. But there is a fresh face for CNN. Anybody else here that has watched the new show with Piers Morgan?

Yes, this is long overdue as his show has been stale for some years now.

Now it will be Maddow, Odonnel, Matthews, and Shultz Vs. Beck, Hannity, Oriely, and Greta.

Matthews show is also a little long in the tooth, but Shultz is the most likely to pop-off and say something that doesn't sit well with the Comcast brass.

Nope, too late for me.

All these clowns, just like Oberman, are ENTERTAINERS. They tell their audience EXACTLY what they want to hear and the audience keeps coming back for more.


If he was suspended and then fired over political contributions, then it's just PC silliness.
NBC will eat $14 million, and if Oberman is worth his salt, some other network will pick him up and he will do just fine.

CBS spent $30 million to dump Don Imus of the silly PC "nappy headed" comment, which in the end, meant nothing. He is richer and gainfully employed today.

These idiots are just entertainers, in the end.

Why should we expect more from them, really?
