Again, thanks all for reminding me, as if I'd forget! We opted to combine 24 and 25 November due to the absord expectations of my stomach being able to appreciate a lot of traditional Thanksgiving fare on top of birthday cake. Besides, were we to have a cake with enough candles, the smoke alarm would no doubt have gone off! Lord willing, won't be able to get around it next year as original date of birth will again cycle around to fall on Thanksgiving Day. Last June, at a family reunion, a young girl working on the family tree had most everything in place except that my parents were not living in the same town where I was born. It was Thanksgiving Day and my parents were invited to dinner with my mother's uncle. The house still stands in Lone Rock, WI but I never ever was inside it after that day. I have photographs of what it looked like then. I know which room contained the birthing bed. Someday I wish to enter that room and proclaim that that was where I drew my first breathe of air. I feel privileged to be few who may claim that. Crazy, eh? But that's how it was then in rural Wisconsin.
