Oxhearts are a popular type and totally different than other types. They have large heart-shaped fruit with most of the seeds located in small locules close to the edge. The seeds are also usually small and the foliage is often wispy. Germination also sometimes slower than usual. Grew 3 last year and growing 2 this year including a rare white one. All are great slicers, as you will find with Monkey Ass.

Thanks a bunch for the info! A few days ago, I liberated my M.A. from some psychotic Morning Glory & green bean vines that were strangling it! I removed enough growth to fill 2 large trash cans, fully compacted. I hated to be the one to have to tame the jungle, but I knew I HAD to. I was really surprised to find the tomato plant was quite huge, about 5 foot across, under the psycho-vines! I also liberated the Wisconsin 55, and it was also a LOT bigger than I had suspected! I also removed some annoying growth from around the base of the plant, and coulda swore I hear it give a little *sigh* of relief. I just haven't had the time to give my gardens the attention I've wanted to, was SOOOO nice to have a drop in temperature from 97 to 75 in just a few hours today here in Kansas!!

This is interesting. The kids know not to take a tomato on the vine unless its red. Ive got a few the kids got a little to exited and picked them of early. To me if it comes of green there no good because the store tomato's are nasty. So if it get pick after the break stage then its good hmm the one the kids picked were turning red so i will have to taste them when they get done ripening.
