Hehehe, love the pasture breeding. Makes foal watch oh so fun. LOL.
How is Dorothy and Tini? Did you ever decide if you were going to breed D or not?

I have two stallions and several very nice mares. I only had one baby this year, and didn't breed any for next. I'm debating on whether or not to breed any of my girls next year. I'm essentially jobless and basically broke (I'm back in school for nursing) and with the economy the way it is I'm afraid of having more mouths to feed. This year's colt looks to be a really good one, if I can somehow find a way to get him with a trainer when it's time, he might be one that can pay off the mortgage.

I have three that I will be breeding next year. Two thoroughbred mares and one PSB Anglo-Trakehner mare. One of the TB mares is being bred to Selle Francais stallion Edelweiss de Bonce and the other two will be bred to Trakehner stallions just not sure which ones yet. Stallion shopping is just so hard!

No, she seems perfectly sound now.

The crippled one is the little black Stormy daughter. She was foaled in MN ... her mother was there on a foal share deal I worked out for some of the mares while I was in the process of trying to get me and all 40-some horses moved to KY.

It was one that didn't work as well as I'd hoped ... this little mare apparantly had a greenstick fracture to the right hind pastern joint, they never called a vet, never had her seen and it healed crooked ... there is a calcium deposit laid down over the joint, it is "lumpy" and she rolls over on the side of that hoof. She gets around fine and it doesn't seem to bother her now but you have to watch that hoof and keep it trimmed.

She's a super little mare, a real "pocket pony" ... plus she's also picket broke ... and she's a broodmare as well. She's one I'm seriously considering breeding to Carolyn's youngest Weltstern son, Fandango, in 2011.

Next year I plan to breed only one or maybe two of my mares and will add one more broodmare. Would like to have four broodies total. Retiring a couple of the girls and all the performance horses are being sold off since my husband passed. Only five foals coming this next spring, less than half what we used to have. I'd like to do more showing.
