I have a nice farrier's anvil and a cool one that was made from a piece of railroad track. I have a lot of hammers and tongs plus what looks to be an antique rivet forge with a hand crank blower.

Right now I am getting ready to build a foundry that will melt anything up to cast iron. I have well over twice as much commercial refractory as I will need for the foundry so I will build a shelter for it and make a larger stationary forge too. That one will get an air supply like the two chamber one we have in the Blacksmith Shop on the Buckley Old Engine Show grounds.

They don't have a photo of the main forge and it's double bellows air supply. The one blacksmith they do have a picture working there is a good one her name is Darla and she usually makes a lot of crafty things but if they are needed she can turn out hinges and latches as good as any male blacksmith.

I'd like to do pottery. But if I was able to master one thing it would be drawing. I took four years of art and still can't draw at all. That's why I became a drafter/designer. I had tools to help me draw then.

Fused glass. I have taken some classes and really enjoy it but it will take around $5000 to set up a decent studio. I'd also love to learn how to play the piano.

I would like to make etched glass. I have a few pieces and love them. I want etched glass in a couple kitchen cabinets. I would like to spend more time with leather work, woodburning and blacksmithing. I have done some, just need more practice....James

Painting with oils isn't difficult. Just get yourself a good beginners book and start painting!

Speaking of lost arts...I would love to learn how to cane chairs. My great-grandfather used to make his own splints and cane chairs. I loved to watch him. He's gone now, but he taught my mom. I need to get her to teach me.

He also made beautiful baskets. I want to learn the art of basket weaving too.

I'd like to get back into macramé. I started teaching it to the kids but need to order the right supplies.

I have ideas and fabric for more quilts then I'll ever get done in my lifetime and shouldn't be giving any thought to more craft projects.
Oh my gosh! I haven't even thought about macrame since the 70s (I loved doing it, though!).

And I completely forgot about weaving, so add that to my wish list as well.

My mother used to tat. She taught my daughter some of it. I never seem to have the time to get over there and learn how myself

Weaving would be my vote also. It would have to be cotton or something as badly as I itch from wool LOL

I'm doing things now I 'put off' for a long time: learning to play guitar, photography, canning, embroidering, quilting, knitting.

Am I very good at any of them? Not necessarily, but they are things I've wanted to do for years, and if I don't do them now, then when? (:

I've wanted to knit for years and finally, I'm making progress. I sat down with some knitting needles, yarn, and YouTube. I had heard that continental knitting might work better for someone who learned crochet first, so I searched for continental knitting videos on YouTube.

What I love about internet videos is the fact that I'm not dependent on one teacher's style. I can just keep searching until I find someone doing a stitch or technique that works for me.

Too bad no one who wants to learn crochet lives near me. I could teach you, right handed or left, pattern reading and even fun stuff like bead and wire jewelry.
Anyone around who wants to learn is welcome to pm me!

LOL, maybe in exchange someone could teach me to use a sewing machine. Gremlins infest them as soon as I get near.

You sound like me. I can do almost any needlecraft by hand, but I cannot operate a sewing machine to save my neck. Many have tried to teach me, but it just won't take. SEWS has become a four-letter word in my vocabulary because of it. LOL So machine sewing tops my list of crafts I'd like to learn.

It would be nice if we could get together with some of our local members and learn from each other, kind of like the Amish do.

Glass blowing - I have always been fasinated by it and would love to learn (you did say money was no object, right? LOL!).

I am another who would like to learn tatting. My daughter is teaching herself to knit and doing very well at it but I would love to learn to tat because no one does it anymore.

I also always wanted to do stained glass, weaving, metal working, basket making, pottery - there are just to many things and to little time (or funds!)

I always wanted to learn stain glass..potery..weilding more than basic building .
I have done woodworking on a smaller scale but lost all my tools in a flood..Would love to get back into that so I can make a two seater glider with roof for my yard ..

My eyesight has faded a bit and I will be getting an eye exam with my tax check so that I can once again do one of my favorite pastimes ..reading ..

I would like to learn to knit and am in process of finding YouTube vids so I can learn by watching ..

I also am wanting to get some chickens so am learning about coops and the care and feeding for those expected date this spring ..

I would love to be able to put the ideas I have for remaking clothes to fit me into actual clothing too ...
