...............The son killed those children , whom his Mom loved more than Him and whom had replaced him , in his own distorted logic ! This is the same basic scenerio that played itself out when a mother drove her car into a lake with her children locked inside . She was taking away those people who meant the Most too her EX husband , because he had rejected her . Tragic but true , the new way to get even with one's EX spouse . , fordy

I didn't hear, didn't have news on all day, til heard it on the truck radio mid afternoon. I cried. For some reason, felt a little guilty b/c I had not heard when it happened, I went all day oblivious while others were already grieving. Worst tragedy ever. Massacre of innocents.

My stomach was spasming I was crying and grieving so hard. I still cannot fathom the mind of the killer. I am just numb and in shock over it still.
At my sons' high school in a town of maybe 2000 you push a button that buzzes into the office before you are allowed in. Sometimes the secretaries don't turn around to see who is at the door. I don't know if they have a camera system that shows them or not but I have wondered how they know who is trying to get in.
We live in rural America, corn fields all around, farming communities, small town America. Much like the town in CT.
I have thought it couldn't happen here but I am changing the way I think.
My children are 16,18 & 22. They are still my babies. I hugged my boys last night. I talked with my daughter on the phone and will hug her hard when I see her. This is 2 massacres in one year since she moved away. The theater massacre was the 2nd.

I'm devastated, reeling, imagining the wee ones last moments.

Last night, I had to get off the keyboard, stop the news reports and watch some movie in order to regain my emotions.

There are no words.

My heart breaks for all the families affected by this tragedy. I feel so sorry for those parents who's children won't be coming home. There are no words to express my anguish over this senseless massacre.

I am praying for the families who are affected by this. And especially for those who's children were murdered.

We have family in Newtown. The children go to a private Christian school but did attend that school. Such a tragedy.

My heart goes out in such a huge way to all of those who have had such a great loss today. The world has shown us over and over again recently the need for us to be prepared to protect the most innocent of our society. School shootings, shootings at cinemas and shootings at malls. I am a woman who was raised to protect those around her. I am also a concealed weapons approved person. I firmly believe that if just one (1) just one (1) person had been carrying a concealed weapon......the shooter would have been taken down before committing such unbelieveable carnage.
It is one thing to feel bad and pray for those who have had such loss. It is another thing to stand up and have the guts to DO something about it. Where I travel......people are much safer and they don't even know it.

Thank you for the replies.

I am still in utter disbelief by this unspeakable tragedy.

I keep getting a sick knot in my stomach when I see the American flags that are being flown at half-staff.
